I'm probably going to be joining SL --as soon as I get the time to set it up and make my way out to the catfight area, which I hear can take some time.  Besides looking for a tutorial on how make my way to that area, I'm curious about how you control your character in a fight.  I've seen videos and must say I am very impressed - and can you win on by out moving her opponent until someone submits IRL, or can ur character actually be defeated, like in a fight video game.

So many questions.

Most of the fighting groups use menu driven animations, which are strictly roleplay style.  There are a few "live action" type systems, but those are not nearly as popular.  The animations in that type of system are not very smooth, and the controls can be difficult.  Also, lag is still a big problem in SL, which makes playing the "live action" style very difficult.
