What's with the shorts?  They remind me of Femwin or worse, TUFF.  I don't expect Americans to be as comfortable topless or nude as Europeans are (God bless).  What I do observe these days is that American girls in decent shape (as those girls seem to be) don't have a problem wearing skimpy bikinis in appropriate public settings, so it stands to reason they should do the same for a public that is watching them as soft-core porn.  This all goes back to the same problem: producers who are confused about whether this thing of ours is erotic entertainment, athletic competition or street violence.

I know what you mean about Femwin and TUFF, John, but I don't think CCC are confused in that way. IMO this is more down to the fact that the girls they are filming are NOT porn actresses.
With the advent of women's MMA and 'girl gang' hip hop, female combat has a different image nowadays than it had in the past. It's still viewed as sexy, of course, but there is a lot more emphasis placed on the element of pure fighting prowess than there used to be.
I think that, while a lot of young women these days might be up for the challenge of fighting another girl on camera for money, if you told them "Remember this is is soft core porn we're filming, so wear something skimpy." you'd probably get a different reaction.
