The latest UMMA news and Open Fight Night ideas
« on: November 15, 2014, 04:15:42 AM »
The latest event for the Ultimate MMA celebrity fight promotion is in the books, and it was the women of the Steel Cage Queens division in action in Anaheim, CA.  Catherine Bell made a play for the heavyweight crown held by Traci Bingham.  Did the Army Wives actress succeed, or was the Baywatch alum just too tough to to handle?  Meanwhile, Brittany Daniel and Julie Benz have been passing the welterweight title back and forth.  Would Brittany take it back again, or would Julie be the first to make a successful defense?  Rounding out our title match-ups, Kylie Minogue has struggled against fellow featherweight Eva Longoria recently.  Would this be another long night for her, or would she step up and reclaim the title?

Head over to the official UMMA website and check out the latest edition of Total Knock Out magazine to find out how it all turned out.

Also, the UMMA has something new for its fans.  For the first time ever, you can interact directly with the different stable managers and fellow fans.  Tired of your favorite fighter getting knocked around the cage all the time?  Let the manager know it's time to step up her training program.  Know of a potential up-and-comer who deserves a shot in the big leagues?  Put her name out there and see if she catches someone's eye.  Also, some of the stables are offering a peek behind the curtain with behind-the-scenes news and stories, so be sure to check that out and encourage your favorite manager if you want to see more.  It's all happening over at the new UMMA Managers Forum.

Meanwhile, the UMMA is in the process of putting together it's annual year-end Open Fight Night event.  The stable managers have already made and accepted a number of challenges amongst themselves, and the card is starting to come together.  Here's what we have, so far (Stable names are in parentheses):

Myleene Klass (RWB) VS Grace Park (Raccoon)
Jessica Alba (Raccoon) VS Jessica Biel (Strikeforce)

At this point, everything is still up in the air (aside from the fact that the beautiful Stana Katic is going to be a very busy woman), and we're looking for suggestions from our fans.  Know of a feud that needs to be settled?  Want to start a new one?  Head over to the forum and make your suggestions, now.

And while you're thinking about your dream match-ups, the women of the UMMA will be headed to Las Vegas, NV as the Diamond Edge Fighters division takes center stage.  With over 70 fights on the card, it promises to be a wild and crazy event.  Among the highlights:
  • Rachel McAdams looks to defend her featherweight crown against the insanely successful Kate Lawler.  The title has already gone back and forth a few times between these two, and Kate has the edge in their head-to-head matchups.  Can Rachel fend her off and keep the belt?
  • Kristanna Loken gets another crack at welterweight champion Danneel Harris.  Kristanna actually took the title away from the long-time champion a few events back, but Danni didn't let her keep it long.  Can the blond action star pry the belt away again?
  • And Petra Cubonova tries, once more, to take the belt away from legendary heavyweight champion Adriana Lima.  This is starting to become an exercise in futility for Petra, as this will be her sixth attempt to take Lima's crown.  Will this FINALLY be her lucky night?

Keep an eye on the UMMA website as the upcoming issue of TKO will have all the news and highlights from Sin City. :D
