I wrote a version of Dolly's song that had the "Missing Verses".  I always thought of the song as Dolly's first attempt.  She is just so kind and sweet she would never go straight to a catfight.  She tells Jolene how pretty she is and that there are better men for her trying to convince her to move on.  But in the end she wouldn't just surrender her man either.

Just my opinion, but Dolly is a treasure in the country music industry, while both have a distinct sound to their voices, comparing a hit from decades ago to the synthesized added to a voice to make it stronger, or louder can not be fairly compared. Electric recording studios with auto presets to a room with egg cartons and an engineer changing sound as they go. I know many will go off on this, but i think Beyoncé is over rated.

A music star should simply make their recordings , put on a great concert and help to shape future music wanna be’s. Beyonces song was paid by her husband in the sum of 0 million to be played on radio, dolly earned her way.
