Katy Perry, asked by a journalist if she ever had the desire to be on a show with Katie Couric, replied with a dismissive 'That would indeed be a doubtful pleasure'.
Katie Couric, not happy about Perry's response, talked about her on a show, and shredded her by ridiculing Katy's career, singing, and personality.
Katy Perry later became so angry that she returned the insults through social media online - which lead to Couric challenging her to an arm wrestling match on a live show. Katy accepted, and mocked her: 'You're apparently so short that you can kiss my boobs when I walk up to you. And you midget think you can outwrestle me?'
'You deluded little pop tart!' Couric fired back, 'I can rip you apart and feed the pieces to stray cats. And I'd even smash your sagging boobs with mine!'
'Try it!' countered Katy. 'Yeah, should we have a boobs against boobs bumping fight, apart from arm wrestling? Come on, I can't wait to squash your little hazelnut sized cuties to bits!'
'You will so regret this, girl! You're up against a woman, not a pathetic wannabe like yourself!'
'Talking about girls and women - how old are you, you little ugly hag? Fifty seven? Wow, shouldn't you be rather careful not to get any hair ripped off your head? It might not grow back, you know!'
'You plain looking talentless little shit! I'll tear your hair off and make you eat it, on your knees in front of me!'
'Aaaw, would you really do that?? You know, you really scared me now! Hahahahaha!' Perry laughs at Couric's words, then she says, 'Look, you stinking bubblefart, unlike you I'm busy with life, so I'll have to leave you talking to yourself, or your imaginary friends, whatever, but when I meet you I'll drag you into a ring, wind you round the ropes, and shove all your insults down your smelly throat!'...
Katy Couric feels that to lose to Katy Perry would make her lose her image of being athletic and strong - while Katy Perry, to keep up her dignity, wants to avoid at all costs being defeated by a 57 year old woman.
So, eventually, each lady in her best shape, they meet up for the showdown...

Oh man, now THAT would be a hot catfight to see. Ditto on all points.

Katie Couric stands her ground for the first few minutes, even forcing a submission with a rib crushing body scissors, but from that moment on, Katy Perry takes full control of the fight. She applies some pretty cruel wrestling holds, gaining a submission after submission. Katy toys with the older woman, and finishes her off with a perfectly executed triangle choke, that puts Katie Couric to sleep.

Katie Couric has her fun, putting Katy into a Baby Swing making her scream out a submission, then a torture rack making her tap out harder than ever, and finally a figure four leg lock that sends Katy into tears, admitting that she will never beat Couric ever! ;)

She might not manage to arm wrestle the old woman, when you look at Couric's arms and shoulders it would be no surprise, but apart from that Perry seems to be folding her up and putting her in her handbag to laugh at her later, hahahaha!
