Braveheart posted this, it's important enough to repeat it here.
Note to All Writers
Board crashes happen. Phishing schemes and account hacks happen. We've lost stories here from talented writers because of things like this. Here's my advice ...
Write your stories in Word or some other processor on your hard drive, then copy and paste. Don't try to write it here. Not only does this make formatting, spelling and grammar correction easier, it has the side benefit of giving you a copy of your story at home in case of a catastrophic board crash or account corruption.
Back up your story on at least one flash drive. Even the long ones don't take up much space. As a former systems specialist, I know that you can never have enough backups.
My own stories are all present in five locations - here, my desktop HD, my laptop HD, a flash drive and another site on the web. If one goes belly-up as my laptop did recently ... no big deal.
Your work is important to you ... and to the readers here. Please don't lose it.

Another thing I would add is that writers should be aware that if you do delete your profile all your posts go with it.
So if you just want to not spend any more time on the forum but would like your stories to remain, DON"T DELETE YOUR PROFILE.

Hi.
Iam new to this site. I have a lot of stories, some quite long but can't work out how to post them up here. Probably just being thick. Can you advise.?

I tend to write my fiction using MS Word. I simply cut and past into the text area. It seems to retain the general format, although some items may need juggling around.
It's the easist way to do it.
