I'm not convinced the French soccer fight was intentionally ignored. The camera kept following the ball, past the fight, as the operator was probably instructed. They may not have noticed the fight, but who knows?
I've always felt female soccer players were much more "enthusiastic" than their male counterparts. If you saw any of the female soccer games during the last Olympics, it was very obvious those girls were ruthless. In a men's match, it's not uncommon for a player from one team to give an opposing player a hand up if they collide on the field. But not the girls. They beat the crap out of each other, and show no sympathy with an opposing player whatsoever.
All in all, the "fairer sex" sure isn't always "sugar, and spice, and everything nice" like the old rhyme goes!!
