I'm having some trouble viewing profiles. I get a screen that says "Database Error. Please try again. If you come back to this screen, report the error to an administrator."
I've tried clearing my cache and viewing history. Any other suggestions?
Much appreciated!

Ok, well at least I know it's not just me ;D
-
It must be connected with the gateway/access issues we were having earlier. I'm alerting the admins.
-
Thank you Becca! :-*
-
Here's hoping it's an easy fix! My first fear was to recall the attack the site suffered earlier this year. :(
-
Same ish, send help!

We know about the issues its a database error. I let the tech know about it. If there are any other problems let us know so we can tell him.
-
Thanks BD! We appreciate the update and the efforts to get it fixed :-*

I'm having the same problem, can't view my profile.

the Script has been changed so the meta data robots are told noidex
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
<meta name="description" content="Profile of sexxyApril-" />
<title>Profile of sexxyApril-</title>
<meta name="robots" content="noindex" />
Well crap. That explains the odd symbol instead of apostrophe.
-
from what I understand they are going through but timing out on your end so they look like they fail

Profiles are back now.

Tried posting in my poll just now. First time after a minute or so it said there was a gateway error and it didn't post it. I tried again and it went through.

Just as an FYI -- that on the message boards is fine. Reloading on a person's page seems to cause a double posting.
-
Even though we are getting time out messages when sending messages they are going through. The tech knows about it and it will be fixed. As far as posting on the forum all seems to be normal.
-
We think the message time out issue is solved. Let us know if you are still getting it.

We will be keeping an eye on it as well.

Was there any update with regards to these text encoding issues?

I've noticed if I post on my mobile browser, the apostrophes get switched to question marks. That's fine, I understand the reasoning. Is that something that can be addressed? I understand if it's too complex a fix or time consuming to trace. I appreciate the work done by all to keep this place up and running. :)

Part of the problem i can see is it isn't consistent. As one sees by the '''''' I can do. The mobile browser part might be a clue. Our tech doesn't have a lot of time to devote at times so if it is made as simple as possible it would be appreciated.

I'm using Chrome mobile on an iPhone if that helps.

The IPhone seems to be the issue. I post just fine using android using chrome, and a laptop using edge and chrome. And if it is a compatibility issue then either Apple or the makers of our software , SMF, have to handle that. Not much we can do on our end as far as I can tell.
It is also noting that this problem mentioned in this link sounds similar. Its workaround may work until there is a fix. https://9to5mac.com/2017/11/06/apple-typing-letter-a-i-autocorrect-bug-ios-fix/
