I love Dradis, his stories have subtlety and he has a great descriptive vocabulary. He creates a great background to the moves and uses really powerful metaphors that give the reader a great sense of combat and rivalry.

I was lucky enough to have him write a story about my original character: https://www.freecatfights.com/forums/index.php?topic=61703.0

Check out his stories on his profile: https://www.freecatfights.com/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=31291 - I recommend the ones about his character Erica.

In exchange for his story, I designed his character in 3D, here she is landing a low blow on my girl Tara:

Freshfights Tara series was awesome! :)

There was a guy on here called Hank. He rarely finished his stories, but they always started out good. . .

Anna The Marine Chick, Sidekick and Mr. Gage all get our vote, with many other writers nipping closely at their heels!  (And "heels" is not meant in a story sense!)

Having said that, the vast majority of writers on this forum provide excellent content - some stories are shorter than others, some have more robust detail than others, yet they are generally very entertaining and descriptive in their own right. Many thanks and kudos to every writer who allows us the privilege of sharing their perspective in their stories.  They all enrich the experience provided by this forum.

Great thread, because it is reminding me of the many writers that I admire but may not post frequently.  I will second or third Halhow for his economy and style, and sidekick for his details, and will add wrdwvr from the pre history, almost, of internet scribbling.

That being said, my preference shifts according to my mood and the amount of effort I want to invest in sinking into reading a saga.  About all of the writers mentioned bring their characters to life by highlighting their thoughts and emotions.  It is the sense of something being at stake, whether it be status amongst neighborhood wives, or a mortal duel, that makes their stories so riveting.

interesting thread....

There are a number on here that really capture and hold attention.  a number are mentioned here already.

Ill give a nod to daswritersite.wordpress.com  Love the way those are put together a story and has a universe working.

I will add that it is time consuming to share.  I see a lot of places you can catch a story or some images but they all want to charge you to see it.  For those that give away the work for free I give a big shout out.  Support them with comments and engage in the stories with them.  I know when i post something I rarely get any real comments.  If you want to keep an author interested and entertained as well engage in some discussion via thread or by PM.  Those can feed the creativity for the next story.  Just saying sometimes its like posting to an empty room.  Dont forget the internet tells the author how many of you are looking and its way too many for it to be so quiet. lol.  Engage and enjoy.

AWC raises a good point; the lack of feedback from readers is what compels me to keep my stories to myself, collaborators, and my close friends. I love writing when I can, but I rarely get any inspiration in return when I post, which means there's no incentive to share freely.
I am not interested in selling my work either, just happy to create story worlds and characters, and letting them interact

I agree. While I am not anywhere near the same level as any of the writers mentioned in this thread, I have posted a few stories. The lack of feedback is pretty uninspiring....and I am guilty of it as well. I have read several stories and enjoyed them, but not left a comment. Seems like a pretty simple fix that could result in more good stories- read a story that you like, then, at a minimum, write a short post thanking the author. I think I'll start doing this. Thanks AWC and Markus!

Totally agree with Marcus, doesn't matter hw good or bad a writer is we put a lot of effort into making a story use of experience helps make it feel real to the reader, but when a thousand people read and 3 or 5 say like it it discourages a writer to ask why bother, that dsaid i am willing to bet there are more writers than we know in among us all, who would blow our doors off but won't post a story cause they see they won't get a decent reply , it is really a shame, i miss the days of XPac sight when chat and stories were the business of the day, and every month he chose a writer to be high lighted , part of what goes on here lately is why i backed off putting that effort in

Respectfully, I disagree on one point. Not everyone needs, of course, to be like clairebear500 who has a BA in creative writing, but I did read a story where the who, where, when, how and why was botched on a basic level.

Highlighting isn't a devilish idea, maybe a monthly poll could be done to highlight the works of writers to engage the community, but those are just my two cents.

Not saying it should be a highlighted thing really on some levels doesn't matter, I enjoy writing in the past i did it more for me and my husband to enjoy, but to write for others enjoyment to dedicate the time and get little to No feedback just makes it feel like why bother, especially on stories that read or look like they were written while someone was running to the bathroom, no content .no build up and the details to make you feel like your watching it first hand get a review like it was war and peace, I know there are clicks and that is what prompts most feed back, but if you or the masses want more and better stories the least they can do is give a damn enough to say nice job or ask why something went a certain way just having us write cause they expect it is rude and doesn't deserve real effort, your 2 cents is appreciated and on some points we are in agreement, I was just comparing Xpacs sight to here cause there was a tighter more fun community where if someone did not pop in after 3 days every one asked if they heard from you, here all it is lurhkers and trilian chatters who use that cause yaho went to crap, if they come here and starea tthe chat room there is a good chance on trillian they will do the same thing and they do, which makes this topic even sadder cause there they can't read the stories lol

I give a great dedication to the craft, and I try my utmost to make stories unique, especially if they're for a commission, so I get where you're coming from. You might not remember this, but I did praise your work in the past, and also have encouraged you to stay as much as possible, yet of course, it's neither meant as an excuse or to validate myself. One thing has happened 3 decades ago, which could have been avoided, if the ones in charge had been honest and admitted, the soaring of the economy that established the titular dream has been fading away ever since others needed less of what they had to offer. In its stead came a "let's be everybody a contractor of self-employer of something and shower that with credit" and it expanded and deepened how commercialization can go. As such, trained smiles and niceties of the service industry have falsely equated that phenomenon with natural behavior, and so it was encouraged to want things unopposed that used to be only acquired by courtship or other human interactions which require effort.

The greatest danger of why bother is unfortunately never boredom, but the economy of lack. Before streaming was a thing that allowed binging, the big networks had to rely on sponsorship from patrons who greatly depended on deeply religious viewers and its counterpart, the lowest common denominator, that so frequently appears in Sandler movies. I do admit to hate-watching 2 CBS shows, one being Scorpion and the other Kevin can wait, two examples where no checks and balances existed between the creators thinking what entertains people and what the larger audience thinks of it.

The problem is not understanding what makes people to binge shows. I get this right out of way, Game of Thrones is a high budget torture and normal porn in a medieval setting, and yet it got so many fans hooked, UNESCO is on the verge of recalling the World Heritage Site title of the Dubrovnik Castle due to overcrowding tourism. Ergo there's need for smut, provided it's done the right way. Of course, the sex, dragons and ice zombies are just the hook to reel readers in, the story would make sense without them. Thus my best writers are the ones who create stories in the fetish genre, that would also be enjoyable if said fetish is taken out.

The reason I can't give up and don't plan to is that I oppose the idea, that fetish sites like these could only or mostly be frequented by testosterone-driven dudes, who'll shout everyone down who doesn't agree with them. Nothing says a work can't represent women to the point they can relate why they would fight a character, nor does it say, that non-majority characters can only appear as somebody to exploit. There's a ton that's yet to be written. Actually, on a different board, in a similar topic, I've also said that the chapter by chapter release of scientific romance (as sci-fi used to be called) or adventure novels were not considered high art. Still, where a lot of kids don't like mandatory literature, there aren't many who haven't heard about Tarzan, or Allan Quatermain, The Lost World and so forth. Heck, the stories of Professor Marston begun as straight up nothing more, but bondage stories, and yet Wonder Woman hasn't advertised as such anymore.

The way I see it, we have the same or similar fetishes, but beyond that, we're different people, so I cannot and will not let myself be defined by it. If I only wrote about how I experience it, I'd trap myself into writing characters mostly only a few can relate to. My foundation is the motive of a character, not how she looks. For example, Helen Mirren has constantly cursed her looks for being judged for that and not who she is on the inside. The so-called Holy Grail, the "touch" to cause a conflict to happen comes not just from understanding human nature, but other factors very much needed for that spark. Getting that right makes a lot of characters and situations relatable and in the process keeps readers interested. The current where we're headed is content produced exclusively for the VR, so the work is cut out, and dull it is not.

I want to make sure something I mentioned didnt get missed.  It isnt the quick post of "great story" that moves a writer.  That helps to some extent because it shows the place is alive and interested.  What really fuels more is a post or a PM about the story.  What you saw in the fighter or the hold or the action.  What you think might happen if they fought again.  Or what might happen if this person fought some other character.  I know I can be equally guilty of failing this.  If you arent writing stories and you enjoy reading them etc. just take a few minutes to chat with the author via thread or PM.  If they dont respond much then leave them be lol.  You might find your comments or ideas or discussion sparks another story or a twist to a story.  I know I enjoy the stories that have a universe around them.  I think of the Scribbler, daswritersite, dradis, fyre, and others where you see characters appearing more than once or moving in an out of stories etc.  Thats just my like.  Im sure just as many like a one time only character and then enjoy the next one time only.  I have enjoyed some of those two.  My key is to engage the authors.  You might be surprised what it causes.  Even if you are just disagreeing with the outcome lol.  That might fuel the rematch story.  :)

My PMs can only come from buddies and admins, so I fall out of that circle of engagement of yours, but I do respond to criticism and suggestions in comments and on threads. You bring up a great point about where a story develops or rather should develop according to the writer and the commenter, which doesn't always align. The most commonly trodden route for a rematch is a sensual one, which is something I personally dislike. Not sensuality itself, but the routine exclusivity, in that it is assumed women just have a switch for being anything else, than heterosexual. Take for example Margot Robbie in The Wolf of Wall Street and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman in Black Swan. It isn't the Dutch courage that couples these two cases, rather huge responsibility on the one hand, and battling nurture on the other. Despite being an actress, there are certain things to which they act like most of us and see it as an obstacle to be overcome. Having a simulated sex scene coming from a strict conservative background is hard. So, while writing a story, and the author wishes to entice it more, the easiest way is to make LGBTQ from the beginning, preferably not stereotypical ones and ideally with a distinctive personality.

For the sake of continuity, I'm fond of creating separate worlds with returning characters. I tend to write as if I'm watching a movie playing before my eyes, but there are times when they are not so fleshed out physically and/or personalitywise. Having repeated encounters gives the chance to make a character more memorable.

The other thing I have to take into account is that not everyone has as pristine intentions as you laid out here. There's a growing problem of a very toxic peer pressure that hassles its own members into attacking creators of any kind, leading to very actual real-world implications. More specifically, a sliver of the social media youth is being lead to believe that only the social media life is the real one and the offline one is a useless, so whatever happens here comes without attachments, which is obviously dangerous as that's exactly how people are groomed into a "sacred crusade" and then wind up believing Tom Hanks has a twisted pizza fetish. As the stories here largely fall into the category of sexual fetish, chances are not zero that readers come from all walks of life. I've no qualms with a story being more on the sensual, instinctive side, so long as the unspoken agreement is intact, that these are fantasies, not how to guidebooks as Mr. Cage liked to put it.

AWC I agree with you to an extent, but if the same people can message you or a writer and critique or give suggestions why can't they tke the extra 1 minute to post that in a review or reply?, when you consider some stories that are a "series" or have a lot of chapters, or return characters so on, it can take a writer hours, a day a week or more, so as a common courtesy a simple  "hey maybe you can add....." shouldn't be a burden , if the people here want these stories shouldn't they show they appreciate it even a simple "Nice Job", as for how or what scene plays in a writers eye, all that does is develope the whats to come and how it gets there and adds the feel for it, but if a fan of a writer wants more a little feed back goes a long way more than in private, as for sexual fetish, or fantasy or any of that, its a give in anything people do behing closed doors or in their mind is not always a reality, so the internet only has a bearing on those who think if its on a web page its real, these same people fall into believing that Olivia Benson is really a ciop in NYC, no matter hpw you look at what style fight or meet characters go into the writer either does it as  entertainment or experience applied to that same entertainment , the reader is the one becoming enveloped in the scene and story, picturing the characters which make the it, the scene , the scenario, the emotions, the tensions, so on without any of that it is just balble and some like that obviously

agree that you can do in public...just saying it can be public or private...just saying in public "awesome" is really not engaging the writer is the point....thats better than nothing at all but obviously a little more about what was awesome etc is great...

Paradoxically the presence and existence of social media are mostly at fault. As the site is predominantly English, and presumably mostly white, participants come from well-established consumer societies where articles can be bought with a click, but without a need for a feedback. This conditioned behavior makes people forget, that they aren't actually a fetishist minority, but just another schmo at a large retailer.

P.S.: Then, of course, there's also the fact that due to sociocultural differences and available time, women are more prone to leave more insightful feedbacks, only its current form of supply and demand, they're not the target demographic.

Crimsonrash has one of my favorite stories on the site. Harpua13 wrote several of my favorites. But as far as being both prolific and talented DottiD and Mr. Cage are probably my top two. Also Augur and Jon Grey have great stories but the BFS universe is so expansive I feel like I need a refresher course every time they put out a new one.

Also, luffy16 is great. Most of his stories aren’t my thing but he’s a very good writer.

Im not just saying this because they are on this thread or because they're good friends, but because I mean it...

Markus and AWC are two of the best in different ways.

Im very selective with who I write with and Ive never been disappointed by either of them. Both tasteful, creative, respectful, and intelligent. Ive had nothing but fun so I hope my participation in their stories and collaboration with them helps bring their work to a bigger audience and gives them the feedback they relish. It saddens me when it doesnt...is it asking a lot? They could easily have a Patreon, they are good enough, but they do this for free for the boards entertainment.

So if you have a favorite writer, support them! Constructive criticism, praise, whatever. Its he least we can do!

Replying to Celina's post, with apologies for any shifting of focus:

How dare you, Celina, bring your parochial, Dutch prejudices into this.  I'll have to whip your bottom and watch your long legs thrash yet again for that.

There are many great writers on this site, and all of you receive our thanks for your passion and your toil to bring these stories to us.  We may not say it on an ongoing regular basis, but THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE WRITERS HERE.

As to the "best" on this site, that is obviously subjective, as one person's "great" is another person's "yawn".  I like a longer story, both for the fight scene itself and the set-up to why the fight is happening and the reasons and emotions behind the battle.   Finally, I like a competitive, back and forth battle and not a domination from start to finish.

My current favorites would be (in no particular order), Anna the Marine Chick, Sidekick, and AndrewScott as the most consistently enjoyable.  Also a couple nods to harpua13 (for the Luxana stoires), Jonica (for "A Clockwork Strawberry", maybe the best full story on the site), Catharsis (for "Homewrecker"), the late Braveheart (for his Sandbridge saga), and the Raven (who created probably the first great saga, Cat Scratch Fever and its sequel, Corporate Catfighting, over 20 years ago!--you will have to go elsewhere to find copies of his stories.)   The older writers (Howard Cossell, Pecavvi, The Scribbler, Gemma Rox, Jonica, Laurie Breeze, and many others) are also well worth your efforts to dig back into the archives and find their great work as well.

Once again, thank you to all the writers here.

One of the best parts of this thread are the posts like this. They it's a great way to find writers that I wasn't aware of previously. I would also like to echo Coachzzz's sentiments about thanking the writers for their time and work. I know it takes me forever to write my much shorter stories and I can only imagine how much work a lot of you guys put into your much longer tales... not to mention, how much detail and creative skill you put into them. As a hobbyist writer, I not only enjoy your stories for what their entertainment value, but use them to help me to become better at writing stories myself.

Thank you so much for remembering me! I wish I had more time to continue writing, but life got real busy and working 55-60 a week isn't good for time to write. Someday, I'll get back in the game!

Harpua13, I understand that life changes courses for us and it may not be in the cards for you to do any more writing for this site or anywhere else for that matter.   Please be assured that your contributions to the genre are plenty for us readers to enjoy many years into the future, even if you do not write another word here.   I was actually re-reading some of the Luxana stories a few weeks ago before I replied to this post.  I think Luxana and The Glass Ceiling is my favorite, but the overall arc of the heroine is well told throughout the entire series of stories.

Thank you for your efforts, as well as a repeated thank you to all of the writers on this board.

Well said!

I am also a huge Luxana fan, and the Raven was my first discovery of catfight literature (I have a special fondness for his Raquel Welch-based character).  Mr Cage, well, that's a class of brutality all to itself.

Don't know if anyone mentioned them but Luffy316 and Nicole S. are two of my favorites. But there are really so many good writers on here it's hard to narrow it down.

A couple more thoughts.

To those writers who have frustrations over not getting feedback, I appreciate your sadness.   Rest assured that the number of views indicate how much people are reading your material.  Assuming your views are not going down with each new story, you are likely doing something that many like, even if they do not explicitly say it in a comment or give a "like".  So you probably still are being enjoyed, even if no direct feedback is coming.

Writing is hard.   I've tried to do a few stories myself, but frankly most of those efforts are absolute garbage in relation to the excellent writers I see on this site.   But an idea for a story gets in your head, and the only way you can get it out of your head is to write it down.   So the efforts of all of you, the writers of this forum, are all appreciated.  Thank you all again to all of the writers here  for your passion, your persistence, and your creative imaginations that make these stories so interesting to those of us who enjoy them.

Oh, and to bcw8, I am quickly becoming a big fan of your work as well.  The sheer volume of material you have created in the last few months is impressive.  Additionally, the different scenarios, the excellent backstories and the wonderful back and forth action in most of your fights is very enjoyable.   I think the Jacuzzi is my favorite of your stories, but I must also mention that The Myth of Free Will has a bit of a "Twilight Zone" episode feel to it, in terms of how it makes you feel and think after you read it.  Please feel free to continue to entertain us with your stories as long as you feel the muse to do so.  Thank you for your contributions.

Thank you, coachzzz for your general support of all writers on the forum above, and to you and Cornerman both in this thread for kind words and encouraging me.  Very appreciated.

I'm adding Kiva into this conversation. Her stories are a great blend of everything I like in a story- and they are well edited, spellchecked, and proofread. Which makes for a more pleasant read in my opinion. Her stories are also creative and done in a way I haven't seen before. The scenarios are original and focused on mental/emotional components of fighting and violence. Definitely a one of a kind writer.

Oh my goodness!  I’m speechless!  Thank you Fyre for considering me among the best talents here.  I’ve found your work to be an inspiration.  It’s already been said, so I won’t waste much space.  This is a long fascinating thread that shows there is no single template for writing a female fight story.  Not only is there great variation for readers’ preferences for style of fight, eroticism, level of violence, etc, but there is a vast array of writer’s techniques, style of prose, focus, story length, etc. I know my stories are not everyone’s cup of tea, but the fact that so many different types of excellent cups can be found here keeps readers coming back.  Thanks to all the writers mentioned here plus some who haven’t been named but should be.

Everyone has their own preferences but I think Rivals Rapture is my fav  writers love her tales which have a lot more depth than most fem fight fiction. Also love a lot of Bcw8 who has been amazingly prolific with lots of a different scenarios. In terms of the older writers who are less active Halhow3 is still brilliant I wish he wrote more often. MrCage has written so many great stories over so many years all us femfight fans owe him a great debt. A master. Fanman also wrote some great tales. The Scribbler was also very good.

I agree with what I think it was Fyre said a bit earlier.  These threads are great because they highlight some writers that I havent read.  With so many people wanting to charge for stuff there are less and less available.  And BCW8 props to you.  Great stuff and a heavy volume in the last several months.  :)

This is largely a thread-bumping effort, as I think this is one of the most useful topics discussed and hopefully many fans here can benefit from the listing of authors in this thread.  For what it's worth, I think all the writers listed in the thread are indeed excellent and ENJOYABLE to read. Different styles and sub-topics appeal to different readers to varying degree, of course. But from the earlier writers like Wrdwvr or Mr. Cage through Halhow and on to Sidekick and Peccavi and Jonica and Kiva and ... just so many more really lovely, lovely writers.

Thank you for posting your work!

I added my thoughts to this post a couple pages (and 3 1/2 years) ago, and I stand by my thoughts and likes from that post.

In the last couple years, I have enormously enjoyed authors like FyreCracka, Kiva, southwrestler09 and bcw8, who have all turned out wonderful stories that capture my imagination.  Of course, my tastes will be different than everyone else.

It is interesting that at present all four of them have taken or took a break from posting new stories.   Kiva and bcw8 have both leaned toward art and away from words for a bit, and Fyre finally seems to be starting to get back to writing with a recent story about her husband on the Men vs Men board.

This is NOT a criticism of them--writing is hard and the muse often leaves for extended periods of time.  This is a reminder to the rest of us that we should be grateful for the talents of all of the writers who have placed stories on this board and cherish them.  I have noted often that we could spend hours going back into the depths of this site and find some incredible stories that would be as enjoyable as our current batch.  So if you like a particular story, use the search function to find either more stories from that writer or find a phrase that uses the theme or idea in a story you like to see if you can't fish for new stories to read.

I appreciate all of the authors who have posted stories on this site.   This site has been and continues to be one of the best historical libraries of these type of stories, and I am grateful that it exists.

Thank you to all of the authors who have contributed to this site, past and present.

There are so many great stories on here. I think those that take the time to write and entertain and let’s read for enjoyment no matter how good or bad should be thanked. It takes time and effort to write those stories. Mine need work but I want the reader  to get invested in the subject and the participants!  I enjoy feed back as well! As for the best writer in fcf I think it is all of us that write stories.

I GREATLY appreciate being mentioned as one of your favorites!  Ironically im writing now more than ever, but most of my efforts have been focused lately on commissions that i either can't or have been asked not to publish here. I do have a story that im returning to in my down time that is slowly taking shape and will appear at some point down the line.  :)
