Title: ausie rules is complicated but rough
Post by: tomboy999999 on January 20, 2022, 05:39:41 PM
Aussie rules or AFL is an odd sport, a soccer/rugby cross played on a cricket pitch!

The men's game is famously rough and the AFL has tried really hard to bulld a women's game as well. It now has a big following and with tackles and fights like this I can see why

This game looks dangerous AF! ??? It looks like a team version of a game we used to play in the 80s called "Kill the Man". It was basically every man for himself American football one person would throw the ball into the air and whoever could catch it would have to run towards the designated end zone without getting tackled. If tackled that person would have to throw the ball up and the cycle would start over again until someone scored a touchdown.

I've watched men's AFL for years and it has actually been tamed down quite a bit. It used to appear there were almost zero rules.

I didn't realize there was a women's league now. Guess I'll have to figure out how to watch regularly.
