What is FCF'S Battle Royale?: Its a one on one competition for the tiara of top girl of FCF! Like the playoffs of any sporting event, all girls are placed into brackets, facing off against one another until only one remains!
Please take a moment to again review the rules below. If you're unsure of who you're paired with, scroll to the very bottom of this post to see a list of girls in Round 1.
The deadline for Round 1 is Monday, May 7th

This kind of competition I organized awhile back for a yahoo group that I was part of. All and all I think girls really enjoyed it, it was clear though that there were a few rules that were really important.
1. You should have fun!! The risk of these competitions is that some people take them REALLY seriously. Remember, there is no prize to the winner. This is really just an excuse for rivalries and trash talk. People should also know that in the last Battle Royale, probably half the matches ended in forfeits. If yours does as well, do not take it personally!
2. How it works: The Battle Royale gets played out in stages. The first stage of course is just the sign up. Anyone who is interested in competing should either comment here or email me at my FCF account. Girls will be entered into the brackets in the order they respond. So if "Jackie" responds first and "Jenny" responds second, they'll go into bracket slots 1 and 2. Fitting the right number of girls into the brackets is a bit of a pain, the total number of competitors has to be either 8, 16, or 32. If say 18 girls sign up, the last two will have to be cut. If there is interest, those two would get priority in the Battle Royale 2.
3. How the matches work: Once the sign up is over, I'll post the brackets that show who fights who for Round 1. Everyone is responsible for setting up their own matches. You can either make the match open, announcing it here and try to bring in many spectators, or you can make the match private if you prefer. The particular style of a match is totally up to the 2 girls fighting. Pro style, NHB, Boxing, catfighting, tickling, any style is an option as long as it's agreed on by BOTH girls. There will be a deadline for each round, please don't jump ahead to the next round, even if you know who your next opponent will be. After a Round is over I'll post the updated brackets with the next deadline.
4. Scheduling your match: You're responsible for contacting your opponent for a particular round. If both girls are unable to fight in the time allotted, both will forfeit and be out. If you have tried to contact your opponent and haven't heard back, please let me know. In cases like that, the missing opponent will forfeit and the other girl will move forward. Please also be generous to your opponent. If during the competition your schedule becomes difficult and you realize you don't have the time, please offer a forfeit to your opponent.
5. There will be no Supering permitted: This is the biggest danger with an event like this. To be a great winner at cyberfighting, you need to make the win real to the girl you're beating. If you're in a match and a disagreement comes up, please IM the person privately and talk it out. If you need to do-over a move or two, do it. At the end of a match, BOTH girls need to agree on a winner and loser. If there's a dispute that can't be worked out BOTH girls get a forfeit and are out of the competition. That may seem kind of harsh, but it's the only way to insure girls are talking and matches are fair to both wrestlers. Again, if you claim to be a great fighter, you have to at least be able to make it real to the girl you're beating. If you have made efforts to work through differences during a match, and feel that an opponent is actively trying to sabotage the match, please email me a transcript of both the fight, as well as any other IM conversations you've had and I'll review the match to determine the winner. This should only be done as a very last resort though.
Here are some tips that I think girls really should keep in mind:
- If you're having a match with spectators in chat, keep a Private IM window open and be talking with your opponent
- Think about posting FIRST privately in the IM window, if the move is kewl with your opponent, then post in the main room
- If your opponent is bothered by a move, figure out why...always try to be friends, remember, you're both writing a story together!
- Be open to re-doing moves
- If you can't agree and the fight isn't working out, don't worry...they'll always be another competition...There is no prize, so if you're not having fun, it isn't worth it!

If I may contribute a thought. Not as anyone who belongs to a clique of course ( being a man ) , and I can't say I am that familiar with who is in what group.
But your proposal is extremely well thought out and presented. I would only suggest an extrapolation of what you already suggested, that any fights...as many as possible, be public. Either in the chat room, or, following the excellent example set by Tinafights and Tonyacats ( and later with Alison ), a Yahoo conference chat setting.
It humanizes those who we may only see posting, and gives them a chance to really show off their cybering skills. In that instance , after years here, and in other catfight chat venues, watching hundreds of fights, it was very good to see a few ladies actually showing their skills and fighting talent. At this site through the years I'd attended or arranged countless fights in the chatroom but this was my first exposue to those from the forums . And in that instance both ladies seemed to enjoy the setting and the positive atmosphere.
It may not be possible but there are even some dynamic fighters in the chat as well who may enjoy the opportunity. After all, the top girl of FCF may well be someone in the chat who would take down anyone here ;D But no matter who participates, the more open and public matches the better. As opposed to just bantering.
Again, just two cents from an onlooker, best wishes to anyone who joins in , hope it turns out to be fun for all involved !

Heidi, I really am impressed with this. I think it's a great idea! I also agree with HB, however. For something like this to go off flawlessly, I think each fight should either be public or have, at least, two unbiased observers. For example, it wouldn't be a good idea for you and me to fight with Kasia in your corner and Gemma Rox in my corner. Although, I'd allow HB to watch any fight I am in. I know he would be honest and fair.
But this is your creation, and it looks like a lot of fun. I know it will be more exciting, and maybe a little more fair, than polls.

No, all kidding aside, here are some answers:
First, I guess I should have said this in the first post, The Battle Royale is open to any girls, it's not a Clique Wars thing.
Second, in terms of public VS private, it has to be up to the fighters. Personally, I LOVE public fights with a very big build up, I find it so much fun that way! The downside of public fights though, is that it DOES put way more pressure on each girl to win. The last Battle Royale had some hurt feelings. Two girls may choose to have their match private, where no outside influences can sway the fight either way. We don't have to worry about witness or judges or anything like that, because again, the two girls fighting have to both agree on the outcome... Say for instance Joni fought Gemma. Gemma may tell me that she won, if Joni argues that it wasn't a fair fight, Gemma cheated, etc, the win will not count. If both girls can't agree on the outcome they double forfeit and are out.

Has rule 4 where both parties have to agree on the match result ever been used in practice? Because it seems like it has a MASSIVE potential to 'fix ' a tourney really quickly. Quite simply if my friends and I go into such a tourney it would be really easy to make sure one of us makes it to the final and/or wins it outright.
The match results would either be a win for us or we dispute the result and eliminate someone. You are working on a huge amount of trust here and you will be matching up people who do not know each other or do not like each other and feel no obligation to show sportswomanship. So if you lose to someone you have an issue with, why not make sure she loses too? And to be quite honest, you could end up with no winner at all if the final is disputed :)
Accusations of supering are part of the game here. Some people think anyone who wins more than 50 percent of their matches is a super no matter what, no exceptions. And some use those accusations to get their own way in a fight forcing people to change fair moves to their advantage. Do the fights however you want but the ability to eliminate your opponent without winning but by whining seems to skew this away from any test of skill or creativity but instead is turning it into a exercise in politics.

i want in :D and about what nutmeg said, maybe if there is an argument over fair and unfair a couple of unbiase people could be brought in to settle it? that way if someone does win fairly, but the loser doesnt like it and tries to get the winner kicked out, then the unbias people can decide weither or not its actuall fair or not (if that makes any sense)
you're right, Carly and now i am not sure i want in...the entire idea of supering is too subjective. what someone like...well, i won't mention any names here, but what "someone" might consider perfectly suitable could be construed by me as totally unfair and ridiculous. this sounds fun but i think it could be a disaster in the making...unless of course, i win it all, then it's just fine... ;)

Or for those who hate audiecnes, logs will be sent of the match to two or three unbiased observers (I suggest three in case it comes to a vote there too). Its the way academic disputes on marking are settled (send it to an unknown third party)nad might work here too.

Interesting discussion and interesting ideas... It's true, there are many ways girls could try to sabotage a match. That's why I say the mantra that has to be repeated is there is nothing to gain in winning, there is no prize, this is just about fun. Think about what cyberfighting is though....it's two people writing a story together.... that's all it is...But it's about creativity... Differences come up during matches all the time, the two fighters have to work their way through it. If they can't, they have to wait for Battle Royale 2, it's not the end of the world. Creating a panel of judges though isn't a great solution. It will add a ton of work and it runs the risk of making it even MORE political. People will disagree on who's a judge and who isn't...The fights themselves will take on a different feel, instead of just focusing on your opponent, you'll also be trying to win the favor of the judges. People may accuse judges of playing favorites, etc, this won't end disputes.
All that being said, it's up to the two individuals fighting... If Tina and Nutmeg have a match and they want it to be judged, they can decide on the judges, how it will be scored, etc.

This seems like a major undertaking. I hope it all goes well. As far as the disputes go, I don't think there has to be an official judge for the entire tourney. If there is a dispute, the two girls could agree on their own on an impartial observer to receive the log and make a judgment and then the results of the arbitration could be presented to the tourney head. This has worked in the past for me. Well not for me personally, but I've been involved in situations like this before and looked over logs. Of course I'm old school about fights thinking there should be a lot of "trying" and "aiming for" unless the opponent is convincingly stunned.

This won't be something to watch on a poll board. These will be actual matches, and not in front of any audience. I will be taking down whoever gets in my bracket, and finally get to show the CLIKKERS just what they've been missing.

Wow!! The Battle Royale has only been live for two days and we already have almost 16 competitors signed up!! At this point I think we should try to get to 32. That's twice as many girls though, so we'll need everyone to spread the word!!

Isn't there the potential for this to cause more problems than it solves. Say for example Fighter 1 and Fighter 2 fight, Fighter 1 appears the rightful winner but Fighter 2 disputes this, now if Fighter 2 sticks to their guns (even if Fighter 1 won legit) then Fighter 1 ends up being out. Essentially the losers can hold the winners to ransom giving them an unfair advantage because it means the better fighter has to re-do moves to give the other person an advantage to have a hope of being allowed to claim victory.
Imagine if World War 2 played out like that.
Allies: I win!
Axis: Erm no... the Russian winter was unfair you need to re-do that.
Allies: Well I think it is realistic.
Axis: Fine then we both lose.
Allies: But... fine, ok YT.
Axis: I deploy super ninjas and kill you instantly! YT.
Is there any way someone or someones neutral could be found to settle disputes? I know then people could complain about favourtism but at least for someone to get screwed over that way someone has to claim something was unfair and then other people need to agree it was unfair, the risk is still there but surely it is reduced?

Hiya Sasha, you'll have to read through all the posts here....This has already been discussed at length... As we get down to the very end, perhaps like the final four, I think that having a disputed match reviewed by a judge could be helpful....
For all these initial matches though, the girls fighting really need to manage it themselves. Think about matches you've had in the past when things go wrong, it's often not about a judging....Maybe the girl you're fighting goes really violent and that's just not your style... Maybe moves you've made are going unnoticed or a girl is doing multiple moves a turn. Maybe you and your opponent are just not connecting. Rylie and I faced each other in the FIRST Battle Royale. Now Rylie is one of my very favorite people to tussle with and we've been friends for ages. When we finally got down to have our match though it just wasn't working. I think we were both tired and it wasn't our best day. We couldn't agree during the match and just cut it short. It was frustrating to have to both forfeit but honestly if some outsider had chosen a side it only would have made it worse and really could have lead to hurt feelings. There is no prize here, the most important thing is that girls have fun and it makes rivalries BETTER, not worse. Again though, it's up to the fighters. If two girls want to have their match judged it's their call.
I should clarify.... If someone feels that their opponent just tired to push them out of the competition without even trying, they should forward a transcript to me and I'll review....this should really be the minority though....Girls should work differences out themselves.
Here are some tips that I think girls really should keep in mind:
- If you're having a match with spectators in chat, keep a Private IM window open and be talking with your opponent
- Think about posting FIRST privately in the IM window, if the move is kewl with your opponent, then post in the main room
- If your opponent is bothered by a move, figure out why...always try to be friends, remember, you're both writing a story together!
- Be open to re-doing moves
- If you can't agree and the fight isn't working out, don't worry...they'll always be another competition...There is no prize, so if you're not having fun, it isn't worth it

So I've updated the brackets with all the entries (see attached graphic). All fighters were entered in the order that they signed up in. I know there was some talk about randomizing the names, the person with the program mentioned never contacted me though and so in the interest of simplicity, I posted in the order girls signed up. There was sooooooooo much to keep track of, please forgive me if I missed anyone...there maybe some shifting around , we may already have a drop out or two, if I DID forget your name, please contact me ASAP!!!
There was some question about the cyber fighter Candy....I've BEGGED her to stop writing mean things in the Clique Wars blog....Because she's refused to stop doing that, I really saw no reason to include her in The Battle Royale, so she was the one name that was removed
Anyways, the brackets are HUGE!! You may have to download to really read it all... I'm also including a list of names (with links to everyone's profile below). Please hold off on starting any matches yet... I'd like to wait until end of day tomorrow to make sure this is the final list...

My sincerest apologies to Black Widow and Elle!! Organization is not like my best, and with the roster this big I clearly got in WAY over my head!!
As it turns out, both Lexi and Xixi have had to drop out of the competition due to scheduling conflicts. Please see the attached brackets for the changes...
- Elle is now scheduled to fight Sexy Sarah
- Bitsy is now scheduled to fight Lil Sara
Another big question is TinaFights. She had signed up to compete early on, but it's my understanding that she's in the process of leaving FCF. I've left her an email but haven't heard back, does anyone know if she's still planning on competing? There is one other possible drop out... If any girls are still interested in joining the Battle Royale, please lemme know ASAP!!
Because two of the spots are still uncertain, I'll wait to announce the start of Round 1 until Monday. In the meantime though, girls should TOTALLY feel free to start matching up NOW!! Each round lasts 2 weeks which goes by surprisingly fast. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

So Round 1 of the Battle Royale has officially begun! We've already had our first match, Avril defeated Ashley D and will be moving on to Round 2!
As all of you are planning your matches, you should totally use this space to announce and promote fights!
In other news, TinaFights has dropped out of the competition, in her place will be Nerdy Girl, she will face Ms. Perfection.
I had some confusion as to whether or not Flightgrl will be competing. I still haven't heard back from her, if anyone here is friends with her, please IM her to get in touch with me ASAP. It's been about 4 or 5 days of attempts, if I don't hear from her tomorrow I'll sub someone else in. Kerry Licious, if you'd like to take her place please let me know!!

I'm going to throw this one out there; do the Clique Wars tallies apply here? In other words, if a Silk Loses to, say, a Classy Tramp in the battle royal, do the Tramps get another point too?
There are lots of girls here who are NOT in the Cliques...For girls that are though, I see no reason why points wouldn't count. Unless someone objects, let's do it! Just be sure to send me an email, telling me which Clique gets the point.... One thing that does NOT count though, are girls of the same clique fighting each other.... Laurie? Joni? No matter which of you wins, you'll only get a point for defeating a girl from an opposing clique!

Because FCF has such a great community, with so many members actively commenting on people's pages, I really thought that something this big could work. I think with busy schedules and everything though, the size was really part of the problem. I think if I do another one, it maybe more effective to do something really small...Maybe just 8 girls... Everyone committed, everyone chatting with each other...Could be kind of interesting as a Clique Wars competition...maybe 2 girls from each Clique? I dunno....Anyways, thanks for everyone's enthusiasm and participation!!

I'm sorry it didnt work out Heidi! Its still really awesome that ya tried to do something like that. I thought it was a fun idea and I was really hoping it wouldve worked out for ya. I totally agree with Sarah a Silk Stocking Girl would totally have won the competition!!! I really like your idea of the 8 girl tournament. Involvling the Cliques like ya suggested sounds like a really fun way to get a lot of people in the Cliques more involved. Hope we can chat soon and thanks again for trying to mix things up a bit around here! Love ya lots!

This really was a great idea, and I am truly sorry it didn't work out. You put a lot of hard work and effort into this, and it's to bad it didn't play out. But someone else mentioned how hard it is to get this many people to find the time to participate. Thanks for all your hard work. It's a great concept, but a logistical nightmare.

2. Which I think could be the case that some members didnt like who they were matched up again which is ok but if that is the case say something asked to be matched up with someone else.
I wasn't involved in this tourney but if i may add or share something regarding this last point.
Having been in this situation i can honestly say that it frequently is the best match-up as you find that a style or person that you really didn't think you'd match up with is a pleasant surprise and isn't that what its all really about?
I was recently matched up with a cat/sexfighter in a tourney and we were both rather hesitant as i'm a subwrestler, yet we gave it a go.....and four hours later one of us moved on to the next round. We surprised each other and most people who knew us as it was an obvious mismatch....we proved everybody including ourselves wrong.
its the beauty of a tourney, stepping into the unknown and making magic with somebody.

It's sad how you all like to gang up on someone when your reputation is challenged. You had a nick here Dmomfights or something similar and yes you probably had the same yahoo ID. Whatever your nick was, you and I briefly chatted and for whatever reason we didnt match up. I thought maybe it was different styles.
Please refrain from the accusations as you obviously just trying to cause more drama. I don't know why but there is definitely a lot of tension any time someone challenges your so called fighting skills. I get it, you don't want me to embarrass you here, that doesn't give you the right to slander MY good name here with baseless allegations of alt IDs.

Odd attitude to have when you are having a PUBLIC argument in a PUBLIC forum. If you don't want people to comment on your posts don't make them in public, who and/or whatever you are.
Maybe instead of running down the skills of every single person you ever comment on, perhaps list people you think are good? Or does such a person exist? Most people are unlikely to match up with someone whose 'thanks' would likely be to tell the world how shitty they are despite the result of the match.
As far as people ganging up on you, when you feel the need to attack everyone on this forum you have any interaction the fact that this fact should not come as a shock.
