Picasso muses catfight, truth or myth?
« on: February 20, 2026, 11:05:14 AM »
Hi everyone, I believe most of you have heard the story of the two women of Picasso having a physical fight for him. That supposed to have taken place after the girls met accidentally in his studio, asked him to make a choice between them, and then he told them they should decide it among themselves, so the ladies, who already knew about each other,  got into a real fight. But I don't think that actually really happened.
How many of you have heard this story and believe it's true? The ladies would be the Dora Maar and the Maria-Therese Walters,  whether at all.

According to the internet Picasso said it happened, but both of the women denied it.  Sounds like it was mostly in his head.  But he did have a reputation for getting women do do all kinds of things for him, so maybe???
I love catfights and chatting.  Look me up on trillian at ljack66   (I think... just figuring Trillian out)   https://www.deviantart.com/ljack66

I agree with you about the background and setup, it sparks the imagination if you are a catfightfan. If you google it you can find several references, but nothing for sure.

Yes, I have read that. Picasso said it confidently to  a friend,  and the girls denied when they have been asked. ( but even if it was true, they would deny it I believe).
