Safely Meeting up
« on: January 26, 2013, 06:54:00 AM »
I recently posted a comment on another thread about suggesting that the people who have actually meet people from online explain to the people who haven't how to do it safely. And posted a couple suggestions of my own. I had gotten some positive feedback for that comment in my email. So I figured it would be a good idea to start a thread where the experienced people can give suggestions to the newer people just getting into this.

In the post I had said They should start out verifying that they are actually talking to someone who is sincerely looking for a match. I would first suggest talking to the person on webcam or on the phone. The actual person that is going to wrestle you, not a husband, or boyfriend, or brother, sister ect ...

Hopefully some people who have done this IRL will add to this.
Have fun and tussle.

Definately verify by cam not just phone.  Phones a good start but who knows what voice modding software is out there.  Ive only had a few arranged matches irl so no expert but i can tell you whats worked for me.  Dont meet someone in a hotel alone either, go to somewhere public, meet up.  If you are going to use a private house dont go alone.  You never know whos a nutjob hiding someone else there too.  When getting the hotel room, check in together, so you know who has access to the room as well.  This isnt to scare anyone but there are so many crazy idiots on this site dont put yourself at risk.  EVER!!

Hope that helps and any questions shoot me a message anytime, stay safe and fight hard girls ;)

What she said. ^^

Always take someone with you and if it doesn't feel right then walk away, you can always reschedule with a genuine opponent as they will likely be pretty understanding about the situation. Have fun, be safe and like she said fight hard.  :)
