As a professional in traditional and digital arts, here's my two cents.
The vast majority of the catfight art I have posted over the years has been digital for one major reason: time. All the catfight art I do is for free and on what little free time I have from my "day job". I just don't have the time to pencil, ink, color, scan, edit this kind of stuff. In Poser I have a number of preset figures, costumes, props, scenes and lighting set-ups. A few quick clicks, a little tweaking here and there and I send it to render. I can go back to work while that's running in the background. Make a couple post-render tweaks and I have a fully finished rendering. All in all it is *much* less labor.
There are several VERY good digital artists that post here and other places. Sadly they are outnumbered by not so good. The 3D programs are deceptively simple. Easy to learn, but takes a little doing to master. But then again, so is drawing. To be honest, I've seen just as much lower-than-average drawings as I have seen renders. It really comes down to the skills of the artist.
If people want high-quality artwork, then more support needs to be made either financially, or something else. Other than that, you'll just have to sort through all the crap to find the real gems and enjoy the treasure you just found.
