Question about removing buddies
« on: January 17, 2014, 01:45:53 PM »
Dear everybody,

didn't know where to put this, hope this is the right place... I've been on this site for a while and would quite like to tidy up my buddy-list. I'm sure many members can relate to that as I've seen the same kind of bloated buddy-lists on many other profiles. My question: Is there a way to install a "de-buddy" button on profiles? It's all kinds of cumbersome to sift through my buddy lists in the Edit Buddies-page and it would be peachy if there was a way to make things easier, like having a link on a profile I'm buddies with that I can click to de-friend the person.

Thanks for your time

Judy D

Yes. Go to the small box [bottom left] on the profile page. Click on Buddy List - they will all be displayed. Over to the right is a  "X" emblem, which will enable you to delete them.

Hope this helps

Thank you GoldenGirl, but I knew about that one. The problem is that my Buddy List is so bloated that it actually freezes my computer to load the page, and it's quite the pain to edit because it jumps to the top of the page whenever I remove one. That way editing the list takes ages. I know that on other sites there's a feature that lets you de-friend people the same way you add them as buddies, clicking a link on their profile. Is there a way to add such a feature here?

I'm not sure about that.

But I think Nutmeg or another Moderator would be able to help.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Thanks for trying though. It's not a pressing metter, I just think it would improve usability of the site somewhat.
