However, as the ticking clock neared the one hour mark, fans were thrilled as Lacey and Britney battled unflaggingly, pushing their bodies to the limits of exhaustion and beyond, their fierce competitive spirits refusing to let either woman so much as contemplate surrender.
Nonetheless, the toll of battle was merciless, and both wrestlers knew they could not continue to fight on for much longer. But with Spears and Chabert so evenly matched, neither was able to take full command of the match. Clearly, if one was going to seize victory, she had to take extraordinary measures.
That opportunity came for Britney as her adversary attempted to Irish Whip her across the ring; the blonde managed to twist her body in such a way that she shoulder-bumped the referee, knocking him to the mat. With the zebra momentarily stunned, Spears knelt and reached a hand into her boot, retrieving a small plastic bag. Opening the bag, she emptied the powdery contents into the palm of her hand.
As Lacey moved in to resume her attack, Britney suddenly pressed her hand to the brunette's face. Chabert shrieked as the salt was pressed into her eyes, blinding her. She stumbled back, furiously rubbing at her eyes, trying to clear her vision.
Slipping up behind the sightless Chabert, Britney decided to add a bit of insult to injury. Hooking the brunette's arms behind her, Spears with a loud grunt lifted her rival up and over, dropping the startled woman to the canvas, with Lacey's neck and shoulders taking the full brunt of the impact from one of her very own signature moves, the Tiger Suplex.
As Lacey moaned in pain, Spears shoved her over onto her belly, they locked on one of her own pet submission holds, the Crossface Crippler. The ref came to her senses just in time to see Chabert's free hand slapping desperately at the mat. A quick call of the bell, and this titanic struggle had reached an end at last.
