Debby RyanThe match had proceeded largely as expected: Sarah, swift and aggressive, came at her larger opponent right from the opening bell, keeping Debby reeling with a combination of aerial moves and underhanded tactics. However, as the battle progressed, Ryan's greater strength and stamina rallied to put her in command of the action. After a couple of spine-jarring slams, Hyland looked like melted putty on the mat. The redhead covered her for the pin, but the smaller scrapper managed to kick out at two-and-a-half...and then did so again when Debby went for another pin attempt.
Attempting to knock the last of the starch out of the brunette, Ryan Irish whipped her into the ropes and charged after her, left arm raised, ready to deliver a clothesline. But Hyland still had the presence of mind to grasp what was transpiring, and she was able to grab the ropes to halt herself; spinning around, she grasped the arm of the nearby ref and yanked him into the path of her opponent, and the forearm blow across his chest knocked him, winded and senseless, to the canvas.
Without the prying eyes of the official there, Sarah reached deep into her bag of tricks, raking her nails across Debby's eyes to momentarily blind her, then pressing her slender throat against the top rope to choke her out.
Suddenly, there was an excited roar from the crowd as a figure dashed down the aisleway and slid under the ropes into the ring. Popping up to her feet, Debby's friend Selena Gomez tore into Sarah like a woman on fire, battering the rulebreaking beauty from pillar to post. Gomez was so focused on her attack, she failed to heed the new roar from the crowd, and suspected nothing until a double axe handle blow smashed between her shoulder blades, courtesy of Sarah's tag partner, Ashley Tisdale, who had likewise dashed into the ring.
Within an instant, all four young women were brawling. After nearly a minute of pandemonium, control seemed to be in the hands of Hyland and Tisdale, who from opposite corners of the ring began to whip their rivals together, intent on letting them knock each other out from the impact. But to the delight of many fans in attendance, Debby and Selena were able to reverse the whips, and suddenly it was Sarah and Ashley whose bodies slammed together in mid-ring with a heavy thud. Both flopped onto their backs, and Selena swiftly worked to roll the badly dazed Tisdale out of the ring, while Debby roused the stunned zebra.
As the official shook the fog from her skull, Ryan threw herself atop Hyland, hooked a leg, and the count was made 1...2...3!
