I've had plenty of 'friendly fights', with friends over the years (competitive but not looking to do any damage or cause much pain) and there are a few people I've given a proper good slap to but as for real 'I don't like you and I am going to hurt you' fights I've only really had one so I can tell you about my experience but the experiences of others who have had many more fights could vary.
My fight was fast and frantic, lots of slapping, scratching and some hair pulling and over within a few minutes which does seem very different from clips of catfight videos I've seen where the pace seems to be very slow and the women involved seem to accidental find ways for their clothes to come off and to allow each other turns to give and take ("oh no I seem to have fallen on the floor on my back and can't possibly get back to my feet or move before you slowly climb on top of me, check your positioning and then sit on my face and I will scream about it but I definitely won't make any effort to actually dislodge you and will hold on to your legs but definitely won't claw them or anything to try and convince you to get off").
Don't get me wrong I'm not criticising those sorts of videos, they are meant to be entertainment not necessarily a realistic representation but in reality what you are doing to each other bloody hurts so you aren't going to be fighting longer than you need to be, very quickly someone is going to decide that they pain they are receiving simply isn't worth whatever you are fighting about and is going to give up or get out of there.
I've rarely seen any proper fights between guys but it seems to be much the same, from what I have seen in real life you get a few punches and then it's over within a minute which is considerably different to what you would see in an action movie.
