Hi All,

While I believe there to be many elements that have made up my excitement and attention for catfights throughout my childhood, one large element was I remember seeing catfight advertisements all throughout my brother's Pro wrestling magazines.  He had them from many companies... WWF, WCW... I don't remember the names of the magazines themselves as there were many.  I remember they were mostly black and white inside with the occasional color photos in the center.

I remember there were catfight company and woman's wrestling ads everywhere!  I specifically remember a Leather and Lace one that advertised their videos for "Maid Service", "Roommate Catfight" and "Catfighting Nurses (which I would LOVE to see!  The idea is so exciting!).  These were all in the mid 90s, and it seems like all those magazines are extinct.  Every now and then, I look through the sports magazines, and they only have the offical WWF one with no advertising.  What happened to those?  They were main stream magazines at any news stand... and wrestling is more popular than ever. 

Does anyone know what happened?  Do they still exists somewhere?  Maybe just less places carry them?  Any thoughts?

I bought a couple, Claws, Amazon, magazine at a store that sold catfight mags, between, Miami and Fort Lauderdale

Yep I remember those days as well, the best one was Wrestling Eye had more adds than stories it seemed and that was fine by me. They always had those little black strips across the topless matches...ahhh memories

I have 16 copies of Fighting Female Magazine.

Oh yes, the good old days!  That's where I first got hooked up with California Supreme.  They always had a little 2 inch add in the back somewhere.  Of course there were ads for Old Reliable as well for the gays.  Now days all you need is Google.

I remember those vividly. One was Wrestling Ringside, another was Wrestling All-Stars and Wrestling Superstars, they were using L Scott Sales ads where I first saw Triumph Studios. Ones like Wrestling Action and Wrestling Eye had some the other Catfight Distributors like CalSupreme and others. The good ole days.

WRESTLING EYE!!! THAT'S IT! Been trying to think of that magazine title forever. You are 100% right that mag was more catfight adds than actual wrestling articles lol. I remember being in 6th grade getting my parents to buy that magazine specifically for the catfight adds. Of course they never knew about them Thinking back I wonder how many of those fights I've actually probably seen in my adult years not realizing I've seen pics of them before all those year's ago. I also wonder how many I've missed.

I used to look at my brother's mainstream pro-wrestling just as you did.  Most of them had great adverts for female wrestling and catfight videos.  I used to love to see the adverts for California Wildcats and Joan Wise.  I think today the internet has completely taken over and you rarely see such adverts.  Try E-Bay.  You can find tons of old magazines.  Focus on the late 1970s and all through the 1980s.

I fondly remember the "old days" the 60's and 70's, when it was a banner day if you happened to find a magazine that happened to have a few pictures and or a story dealing with catfighting or female wrestling or boxing.  I recall a story in a magazine, cant remember the magazine, that had an account of a catfight that Ann Margret had with another young actress that was broken up by her then hubby, roger smith. I do remember it stated that Ann was getting her ass kicked.  Does any other "old timers" recall this? One particular pictorial and story (circa 1965) that really got me excited described a boxing match between 2 girls in bras and panties. Once again don't remember the magazine but do remember one girl was quite tall while the other was a lot shorter, but both were very good looking.It took place in a house with male and female spectators. I believe it was titled "The New Craze" or something like that.  When Sports Review Wrestling started with the apartment wrestling features we all waited patiently each month for the latest edition.  Then of course we started to get the mags dealing exclusively with catfighting.  Catspats, Figthing Females etc.  Wish I would have kept all of these vintage mags.

Wrestling Eye and Wrestling World. Wrestling Eye was the very first magazine I ever bought and because of the ads I bought them every chance I got.

They are ALL gone now except for WWE magazine from what I see , even Pro Wrestling Illustrated .

As usual, I'm going to date everyone in this thread.  I recall the old pro wrestling magazines from the 1960's and 70's, which came out once per month.  Wrestling Revue and The Wrestler.  Usually, they ran one feature of about 2-3 pages covering one women's match, complete with a BS storyline and pictures -- oh the pictures!  Judy Grable, Moolah, Penny Banner, Verne Bottoms, Rita Cortez, Olga Martinez, Jean Antone, Judy Glover, Toni Rose, Donna Christiantello, etc. were the featured beauties.  I lived for the day when the mag appeared on the newsstand at the local liquor store, and always made sure that I had enough $ to purchase it. 

But the absolute show stopper was one issue of (I believe) The Wrestler, which had a full section devoted to the classic catfight in From Russia With Love.  There were lots of pics of Martina Beswick and Aliza Gur going at it and a full-on description of the fight.  I remember finding and perusing this mag in the bus depot in downtown SF on my way home from a Niner game one Sunday afternoon.  I had to decide between a bus ticket back across the bay or the magazine.  I opted for home.   

Later, one of the production companies actually produced two magazines devoted strictly to women's pro wrestling.  One of the mags had the memorable photo of Karen Kellogg walking toward her corner (almost directly toward the camera) and removing her jacket, while her opponent (Lola LaRay??) was readying herself in the far corner.  Tres Sexy!
