Thanks 10count. As far as Tate goes I do not think there is any doubt that the incredible amount of punishment she has taken has taken its toll. No other female fighter that I can think of has taken anywhere near the strikes to the head as her. As far as her improving I think she did make strides with her stand up but there is only so much that you can do. She is a wrestler and not a striker. She has slow and small hands and as I have mentioned short arms. In her fight against Holly they her reach listed as 64 inches which I believe is accurate and a huge handicap.
Her success was due to her takedowns and having a good top game with decent jujitsu. She was able to take strikes and wait for her opponent to make a mistake. At UFC 200 Nunes absolutely beat her all around the cage. It was brutal and I dont think she was ever going to recover from it....
Which brings to me to my take on Ronda vs Nunes. Ronda is in for the same treatment but she will not last as long. She said that she was out on her feet after a few punches from Holly. Wait until she runs face first into Nunes huge punches. She hits much much harder. It was reported that Ronda was crying backstage after she ran off stage after stare down. Ronda is done. I will not be shocked if she pulls out of fight. Look at the size of Nunes hands compared to Rondas'.
Since Nunes has moved to American Top Team she has looked unbeatable.
Ronda started out as heavy favorite but now the odds are nearly even. All of the big money is going on Amanda. It will be kind of sad to lose Miesha and then Ronda. They were both pioneers but there time is over. Nunes, Julianna and Raquel are the future.
