UK Catfight Tournament Round 07
« on: February 04, 2010, 07:06:38 PM »
Seventh round gets the green light.

Geri Halliwell is still furious after her shocking defeat to Gemma Atkinson and targets Jenny Frost for a brutal revenge. Victoria Beckham looks to build upon her first win and takes on lightweight Andrea Corr which may be just what the doctor ordered given Corr's poor record. Leader Emma Bunton is odds-on favourite against Liz Hurley while Catherine Zeta-Jones returns after vicious pounding she suffered from Emma to challenge Roxanne Pallett who just like Andrea seems to be serving as a punch bag in the tournament thus far.

But the most anticipated fight features Naomi Watts vs the still unbeaten Liz McClarnon. Apart from Geri Halliwell these two blondes are the most serious rivals to Emma Bunton's leading position and face each other in what on paper looks like possibly the closest fight of the entire round. Even the bookies can't split them...  :)

NANCY SORRELL (Age: 35; 5'7" / 5th 4-2) vs GEMMA ATKINSON (Age: 25; 5'9" / 7th 3-3)

ok I'll try predictions too. I predict Gemma Atkinson will really teach Nancy Sorrell a lesson. clear win for Gemma. a win for all 3 Spice Girls. Emma Bunton will get a clear win against Elizabeth Hurley too. frankly Elizabeth just isn't in the same leage as the blonde Spice Girl

I was hoping to post my predictions before much voting took place but I see I am too late. Now there are several one sided fights and several close ones. I will say what my predictions would have been and then what they are now based on the fights so far.

Geri Halliwell vs Jenny Frost - Geri is on a warpath after losing to the much taller Gemma/ She will go after Jenny with full fury and destroy her. Sure enough, Geri is beating up on poor Jenny who seems to have no answer. Can Jenny make a comeback? I doubt it.

Roxane Pallectt vs Catherine Zeta-Jones - . Roxanne has been the punching bag against her opponents so far and CZ-J has a mixed record.  CZ-J was humiliated by little Emma Bunton so she will jump on the even shorter Roxanne and have her way with her. True to form, CZ-J is throwing Roxanne all over the room and nailing her with punch after punch with her much superior reach. Roxanne's only hope is to get in a lucky punch but her luck hasn't been good so far. CZ-J in a walk over.

Nancy Sorrell vs Gemma Atkinson. Don't know why everyone, include Jeri, was surprised the 5'9" Gemma bested 5'2" Jeri. It's not like Gemma is tall and uncoordinated although she has lost 3 firths.  Nancy is 5'7" and matches up physically with Gemma. Plus she has won one more fight than Gemma. My own bias is that 5'5" to 5'7" is the best fighting height so much as I would like to go with Gemma, I see Nancy winning a very close fight.  So much for my prediction. Gemma is out to prove she is for real and is overwhelming Nancy to this point. But I think Nancy can go toe to toe with Gemma and will make a comeback. But it will take too much out of her and Gemma will prevail in  a close fight.

Andrea Corr vs Victoria Beckham - Victoria has her fans although her performance so fat has been less than stellar. But Andrea has been even more hapless. Normally I would favor Andrea to win but after the controversy in the last fight I believe Victoria's fans will be out in force. There cheering for Victoria and insults hurled at Andrea will demoralize Andrea and she will lack the will to fight. Victoria takes it but not by much. As predicted Victoria's fans are out in force and my original prediction and premise still held up. Except this will be an easy victory for Victoria.

Dannii Minogue vs Rachel Stevens - These two match up evenly physically and, as far as I can tell, in determination. Rachel has done slightly better which might make Dannii the underdog, a position she likes. But I give the edge to Dannii. It will be a back and forth fight but Dannii's dancer's legs and stamina will prove the difference as the two fight to exhaustion. Indeed this is a very close fight so far. I still like Dannii to win but it will be close, very close.

Naomi Watts vs Liz McClarnon -  Both fighters have great records, Liz being undefeated and Naomi only having one slight hiccup in losing her first fight to Dannii Minogue. She has been perfect after that. Both women match up well physically. Liz has been a surprise so far for she looks much too sweet to be a vicious catfighter. Perhaps I have underestimated her but I have to go with the Aussie as they are usually more sports minded and active in sports. Naomi wins a close fight as she uses her will to overpower and defeat Liz. This fight has lived up to my expectations and is currently tied. It could easily end up a draw but I will stick with my guns and call it for Naomi in the closest fight in this round.

Kate Beckinsale vs Heidi Range - The short but tough Heidi has done slightly better than Kate so far. Perhaps Kate is just too sweet. But I see Kate calling upon the brunette vs blonde motivation. She will be too big and too strong for Heidi although Heidi will get in some good and nasty licks. Well it looks like Kate is ripping the blonde's hair out. Looks like an easy win for her. But I think she had better be careful for Heidi could make a comeback if Kate gets careless or loses concentration.

Elizabeth Hurley vs Emma Bunton - I keep picking women that have 5" or more on Emma to beat her and she keeps proving me wrong. I should learn my lesson and say Baby  Spice will win. But I know Elizabeth can fight and be rather nasty at times. So she should make short work of Emma. Well folks, looks like I have underestimated Emma again. The fight started off close Emma seems to be able to get inside Elizabeth's reach and defenses and is working her body over. Emma has an even larger cheering base than Victoria does so these is probably affecting Elizabeth. But Emma cannot avoid and duck Elizabeth's punches for even and sooner or later Elizabeth will nail Emma and send her to the canvas. She will then place her foot on Emma's chest, crushing her breasts and pose in victory over her. She may even make Baby Spice cry like a baby.

Emma Bunton is definitely better than Liz Hurley. another win for the curvy blonde. Gemma will have an easy fight too. Not much Nancy can do against her

Round seven is over and for the second time there was a fight decided by just a single vote.

Geri Halliwell vs Jenny Frost
Spicy redhead was sure keen to make amends for the upset loss to Gemma Atkinson and her aggression was greater then ever. As a result she pounded the guts out of Jenny Frost right from the start and it was obvious that the blonde had no response and wouldn't take the beating for too long. Geri finished the fight with a killer knee blow to the head that left Jenny down and out on the floor.

Roxanne Pallett vs Catherine Zeta-Jones
Catherine showed little respect for her petite rival and turned into attacking mode right from the start. This was the right choice as Roxanne crumbled under the punches and her face was quickly getting sour and battered. Catherine pulled the younger brunette to the floor and continued to punch her until Roxanne gave up all the defense and was left at her opponent's mercy. Catherine grabbed Roxanne by the hair and smashed her head several times against the floor to finish this one-sided encounter.

Nancy Sorrell vs Gemma Atkinson
Gemma's furious approach stunned Nancy and send her down on the floor in early stages of the fight. Gemma surprisingly easily outmuscled the older blonde and applied crushing bodyscissors which squeezed every single breath out of Nancy. A fight that was supposed to be one of the closest in the round turned out very one-sided wich suggested Gemma's confidence rocketed sky-high after her win against Geri Halliwell.

Andrea Corr vs Victoria Beckham
Following her first victory Victoria was full confidence and used Andrea's face as a punching target with great effect. Andrea bravely tried to respond and got a few lucky hits and was brutally knocked out in the end.

Naomi Watts vs Liz McClarnon
Both women didn't show much respect to each other having confidence as their biggest weapon with weight & size pretty much even. They quickly began trading blows but neither managed to gain advantage until Naomi's low-kick attempt was too slow & obvious and Liz grabbed her ankle and then tripped her up on the floor. Liz wrapped her legs around Naomi's waist from behind but the actress learned a lesson from her only defeat to Dannii Minogue. She began elbowing the side of Liz's stomach which originally surprised the younger blonde but she quickly restored her confidence and choked her rival with both arms looking for the ultimate solution. Naomi suddenly realized Liz's phenomenal record didn't come from her strenght or physical power but from the outstanding fighting technique. She was trapped and couldn't do anything about it. After few unsuccessful attempts Naomi eventually admitted defeat, only her second of the entire tournament whereas Liz was displaying a bright smile for the seventh time keeping her unbeaten record alive.

Kate Beckinsale vs Heidi Range
Kate's up and down tournament has hit a good tide with Heidi still affected by the loss to Victoria Beckham. All of Kate's three defeats came to blonde opponents and she was determined to finally put one away. Indeed she clawed into Heidi without any warning and ripped the blonde's hair out in chunks. Heidi couldn't resist the unexpectedly fiersome Kate and crumbled onto her knees in agony where the brunette delivered a couple of brutal kicks to the head which left Heidi completely battered and unable to continue.

Dannii Minogue vs Rachel Stevens
Dannii looked to repeat her victory against Roxanne Pallett and tore into Rachel with no mercy grabbing a thickful of hair. But Rachel proved much tougher opponent and Dannii's tactics appeared to have failed. The two continued to roll on the floor trading blows to each others heads and both losing chunks of hair in the proccess. Finally Dannii surprised Rachel by twisting her head so awkwardly, that she could only scream in fear of her neck getting strained. Dannii needed no second chance and firmly pinned the aching Rachel on to the floor. Rachel tried to shrugg her off but a few solid punches straight in the face forced her to submit in sheer pain. Very close fight and Dannii was thrilled with such a fine victory whereas Rachel bitterly disappointed by this loss.

Elizabeth Hurley vs Emma Bunton
The much taller Liz was never going to be scared of the runaway leader and bravely tackled the blonde Spice Girl. Emma's confidence was sky-high so she accepted the blow-to-blow concept and tore into Liz as well. Neither of them were able to gain advantage until Emma tripped the brunette onto the floor and climbed over her trying to obtain a superior position. This was not enough against Liz who shrugged her off and both women were rolling around the floor vigorously. Liz ripped off Emma's skirt and left her topless which upset the blonde so much she clawed her nails right into Liz's enormous cleveage. Liz screamed in pain but Emma was not done with her yet, ripping the brunette's blouse in the proccess. Both women broke the lock and stood up to face each other again revealing their breasts with Emma holding Liz's blouse in her hand. As they locked into another struggle Emma tripped Liz again but as she went down, Emma wrapped Liz's own blouse around her neck and began squeezing it. Liz desperately tried to get it off but Emma grabbed her hair and gained a very dominant position. Liz was gasping for air by this time and couldn't fight anymore so tapped out in vain.
