Womens Royal Rumble
« on: January 29, 2018, 05:45:56 PM »
Wondering if anyone watched the first all female Royal Rumble and what their thoughts were, I've tried to keep it spoiler free. Not exactly a catfight but certainly a general discussion that I don't think fits anywhere else.

On the whole I thought it was pretty good although I think there were more than a few missed opportunities.

I liked

ABOUT TIME! I honestly don't see why certain match types have been men only, when given the time and the freedom the women in WWE have shown they are as good if not better than the men.
It was nice to see some really iconic returns.
Several memorable moments.

I disliked

Too much time spent with people outside the ring which meant the ring felt too empty a lot of the time.
Pretty predictable ending and considering two people in attendance that didn't participate they could have done something more interesting.
Felt a bit too scripted at times.

Was possibly better than the men's Royal Rumble. Was not surprised of winner but was disappointed with who were ringside and did nothing.

Would love to take part in that kind of contest, especially with some of the women that were involved and maybe with one or two from here.

Including the preshow.  Spent over 6 hours watching this so to be honest I was a bit wiped out by the time of the Ladies match.   But there was enough action to reawaken me.  This event was historic as 2 japanese stars won both the mens and the ladies rumbles.

It would be fun to do it again with you, defending my Royal Rumble championship, or it was actually a Queen of the Ring.

That does sound like fun.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

here it is.  I guess it was a poll.

I watched it and was great to see Michelle, Torrie and Trish. Stacy and Eve would have been great too. I miss the divas. I'm not interested in the new crop. Seems like a lot of anti-beauty around at the moment I honestly see little difference in the skill level between the attitude divas and the new revolution.

Not entirely sure what you mean by anti-beauty. As for the difference in skill level, personally I think there is a pretty massive difference but women still aren't getting that much match time which doesn't help them showcase it. I would strongly recommend checking out the Sasha Banks Vs  Bayley matches from the NXT Takeovers and pretty much any of Asuka's matches from the NXT Takeovers as great examples of what women wrestlers can do when they are giving a bit of time and a bit of creative freedom. As much as I do like some of the Divas the majority of them are, in my opinion, nowhere near as technically proficient as the top female stars of today.
