An indication as to what type of characters I like to write

https://www.thecut.com/2017/04/why-i-love-it-when-women-fight.html I was perusing the internet for new ideas how women themselves view the fetish world of catfights and how they reason it, when I encountered this article and I gotta say I loved it very much.

I need to highlight it though, that the article naturally concerns itself with America there it's most in-depth about its own society. It is one, that, compared to other industrialized nations reveres strength on the same level as less industrialized ones, or ones that don't share Western values. As a consequence women are more fiercely competitive by nurture more, than by nature.

That being said, I don't like the blanket "we must all help each other" attitude as it negates individual female desire to be successful. Let's face it, one either competes fairly or bends the starting out circumstances in their own favor so only they can pass the hurdle.

My characters are usually the contrast of these two with a hefty exploration how we got there. I acknowledge that there are women, even here who just want to scrap for scrap's sake or hone in on someone to live out frustration without any attachment... while I can write it for others, it's not my cup of tea.

I disagree slightly with the author, I mean I think she's right, there used to be a time when fights had to be avoided to carry out a baby (who frankly killed you or the less than hygienic circumstances did), but nowadays that has become less of an issue in well functioning places. I won't lie, I'm attracted to women who don't allow to have insecurity issues therefore know who they are and what they represent, and so my characters are plenty similar in that regard

The idea behind this topic is to engage other writers and readers for their take and discuss.
