Kate, that was one of the better western catfights.

I agree about the laughing idiot.  If I was in a position like that, two women involved in a rollicking catfight right in front of my eyes, the last thing I would do is laugh!

Thanks for the post.

Nice find. This looks like it’s from “Gone with the West” from 1975. Wonder how much of it was the actresses & how much stunt folks? Looks pretty authentic. Yeah, wsh we could edit out Laughing Boy.

I hate the laughter of the jerk...but why. i am asking myself.  it shows he doesn't   appreciate the toughness and determination and willingness to go BEYOND (in he story at l;east) what is acceptable or wanted by most women. There is wildness to the experience-- it is discounted by him. It trivializes us and takes us for granted,no one likes to be a laughingstock. He's far, drunk, and mindless-and he is laughing at THEM??  he thinks women are only for a guys entertainment-bs.

Unreal thing for me in they are scripted  to be fighting each other to have him. Why would anyone fight over a guy who doesn't respect them??!  I'd fight here--I'd tell the other woman  girl-- come on let's  take him apart, strip and tie him up naked for people to find and laugh a him. Fact is I doubt I would need any help.

and--doesn't he have ANY sexdrive?
I once fought a druken man who slapped my horse.  one single fist in the gut and he was on the ground puking.  Yer a fool if you fight when yer drunk.
OK. yeah, I see I am  taking this  little clip way too seriously- it just that I get so damn tired of some guy's attitude IRL>

IMO, this marks the low point in actor Aldo Ray's career.

Great fight however.

Bear, so that was Aldo Ray?  I thought it looked like him, but I wasn't sure.

And Kate, I've seen a lot of yt fight vids where some of the spectators laugh while watching two girls fight.  I've never understood it.  Maybe it's just a nervous reaction?  I have no idea.  This movie fight, the guy was drunk and just being stupid.  But why people in real life laugh while watching girls fight is a mystery to me.

they are uneasy and basically afraid somehow they might have to fight. all the people yelling "do this"  hit her head on the ground, get her leg, egt her leg...(screaming now) get he LEG....yeah right..you  get in there and see what you  can do.

there is a famous saying that every  trained boxer knows. It comes from Mike Tyson.  "everybody has a plan (of how to do   a fight) until they get punched in the face.  lol  the yellers are not fighters

This  was,  indeed,  one  of  the  best  Western catfights,  and  you  posted  the  clear  version (The  other  is  quite  dark).  BTW 1)   That  is Aldo Ray (Dirty Dozen, among others)  2)  In  case  any  wonder (I  know I  did!)   I  saw  the  full  movie,  and the  end  of  this  video  is,  in  fact,  the  end  of  the catfight.

Great fight Kate. It as if one of the legendary J T Edson western catfights was put on screen in terms of length and intensity.

I do wonder who the stunt people were. Its pretty clearly stunt women in the close ups. The stair and window falls I'm not so sure?

Here's a relevence question for folks - can you name any female fights in books written by female authors  - was was one referred to in Agatha Chrisie novel!
