Looks a bit like book club maybe a tad less formal, still back in the 70's there wasn't any daytime tv in England so the stay at home wives had to find something to pass the time.

These matches remind me of a catfight fantasy I've had for quite some time.  I know there are lingerie parties, or there used to be, where a woman invites some of her female friends to her home, and they try on various sexy lingerie outfits.  I always fantasized about one of these parties turning into a hair pulling brawl.  I wonder if it ever happened in real life?  Probably not.  Just my warped imagination.

This takes me back.   Before companies like Festelle started really competitive fighting and wrestling I had come across ASF in a seedy shop in Soho, London. They had individual booths in which 0p in the slot ran cine film for a very brief period.  A six girl tournament from ASF was in one booth. your hard earn money would run the film from  were it was last stopped so you would be joining the matches at any point during a match and you could only watch minutes, not the whole.  These examples are the first ive seen for decades and it is not as competitive as I remembered it, just an excuse to see women pulling each others clothes off. At the time though it was extremely exciting.
What  I would really like to know,  is where they sourced their women?  The fact ASF was based in Bognor Regis  On the face of it a gentile resort on the English south coast may suggest local women rather than a model agency being involved,  even chorus girls from the summer season shows.  No reference to ASF on Wrestlewikki so I suppose the question will remain unanswered.
