the future of online fight?
« on: August 09, 2021, 04:01:08 PM »
Tech scientists and companies are dev the "metaverse" - an online environmet that enables users to interact with each other and the IRL world in new ways. This is so leading edge that even the experts don't know quite how to say what  is. And with FB behind it- and others soon joining to commercialize a whole new (or maybe not so new after all) VR tech-- there are boatloads of bucks behind it.

so- 1) what do y'all think the future of VR will be if at all related to online fight, and 2) what do YOU imagine for where we go from here?
I'd like to see some sort of  hologram system, maybe interactive, so you can see apparently 3-D actual women fighting in a VR-game or whatever environment.  They have done stage shows with elaborate, highly produced hologram images  joined with human stage show. If we, if I, could geT back into sport combat --WOW SIGN ME UP!!!

the future of online fighT? maybe..

You make a great question as to where things will go  or become in the future as tech. evolves to the next level, however as  far as zuckerberg goes he tends to get excited about new things and wants his name and fingers on it, then he picks it apart as to how HE thinks the public should be allowed to use and or even see things. If you recall when face book first came out it was a free for all and slowly he took away how you react, what you said or how banned people , so it will take a new tach mogul to bring  our level of light to the hobby/fetish/sport.

As for producers putting things on a hologram the possibilities would be amazing but the cost factor for private home use , will be out of touch unless your wealthy, think back to first cd and dvd players nothing was under 4-500 bucks and up in some cases. just my thoughts on it

To want to look into the future, one needs to look 30 years into the past. In theory, capital flows toward ideas that beget more capital in the form of profits, in practice it's more like hedge funds and venture capitalists have a very structured approach to things.

As such, instead of a freeform of entertainment, any new technology will rely on the financing of existing ones. In a certain regard, the companies paying social media influencers do a very updated version of newsboys on street corners shouting content at you, so that you buy said content. Depending on the cost of setting a system up, the first ones will be very safe for work as they need to reach wild masses.

A lot rides on how far we trust each other in this community.
