THE KO LOUNGE - FOXY FIGHT NIGHT
I glance at the neon sign for the club in the locker room one last time, then slide my hands into my gloves and check myself in the mirror. Pink gloves. Pink shorts. Pink footwraps. Even a pink mouthpiece. What can I say, I like a little glamour. Turning to the slide as I admire my slim and toned body, with just enough T&A to remind everyone why this is "foxy."
I stride toward the staging area just as the announcer's voice booms through the club.
"Making her debut in the KO Lounge at the ripe age of 21, coming in from the EAST COAST at 5'3 and 113 pounds—she's a terror, she's tiny, and she's TIAAAAAA!"
The second the curtains part, the crowd’s noise and the thick, damp club air hit me like a truck. My heart pounds, syncing with whatever club remix trash the DJ throws on. I inhale deep, then step forward. Excitement, adrenaline, and the sheer thrill of the spotlight fuel my every move. I in walk like I was born for this.
The lights catch the shine of my outfit, and eyes lock onto me from every angle. I keep my chin high and smile... mostly for myself, not the ogling crowd.
I toss a wave to a few of the “fans” near the front. But I know they’d cheer for any girl dressed like this. But I shake that thought off.
I reach the ring apron and drop into a clean, smooth split, letting my body do the talking. The crowd erupts in cheers and wolf whistles, which should be filling me with confidence but instead has me blushing. Remembering what the promoter said about connecting with the audience, I flex my arms and blow a kiss to a cute girl leaning close to the ring. I'm sure she's gonna remember tonight. Hopefully I will too. Finishing up my little routine, I bounce lightly in my split pose before popping back up and raising my arm to the air. I settle into my corner, legs loose, eyes alert.
Eagerly waiting for my opponent. I don't even have a clue of who she is yet, all I know is that this is her debut too. My heart is still pounding, but it feels good now. The adrenaline is more like fuel than fear. I'm not just her to win. I'm here to own every second of this fight.
