As Charlize Theron finished filming yet another action film, the studio works on promotion. The marketing department has a problem. Concerns have been raised that the public may consider Theron is too old for these lead roles. Some wanted Gal Goddot or Anya Taylor Joy for the flick. How to keep Charlize ‘current and viable?’ Someone surfaced a novel idea. Flim a short celebrity wrestling contest between Charlize and the super-fit Victory Secret model, Brazilian Adriana Lima. Dark skinned and dangerously fit, Lima would highlight the “dark forces” that action queen Theron consistently outcomes. (Ouch—not woke, dude.)
The studio people contact all the appropriate other people to arrange the event. The venue selected is the lawn behind an exclusive LA gym.
Charlize Theron, still striking at 50, stands poised, her lean frame displays a lifetime of disciplined workouts. The lines of her body reflect years of choreographed violence — a body built to move fast and strike hard—in action films. She is tall, trim and toned.
Across from her, Adriana Lima, 44, radiates a very different kind of power. Maybe a half-inch taller, darker, broader through the shoulders, her body carries not just beauty but danger — strength earned through sweat, not spectacle. Hours at the weight machine, hours at the heavy bag, her biceps clearly mark out her physical strength. Her toned thighs flex as she moves black athletic shorts. Even standing still, she exudes danger, power and inexhaustible energy.
In the several weeks leading up to the event, public barbs had led to this. Lima’s people had mocked Theron’s casting in lead action roles — “She’s no fighter, just a face,”
Now, under the morning sun’s glare, the two women stand ready.
“Ready for some action, Charlize? Ready to mix it up without a script? ” Adriana’s voice was calm, but it carried a steel edge.
Charlize smirked. “Let’s see if the runway queen can take a hit.”
Theron strikes first with a slap — sharp, contemptuous. Adriana’s head snaps to the side, but she barely moves her feet. When she spins back around, her eyes burn cold and focused. Lima replies with a quick backhand that knocks Theron’s guard away and lands with a loud crack on Theron’s cheek. Charlize’s expression falters; she hadn’t expected such power nor speed.
Charlize sets her guard and steps up her game. She launches a quick series of body blows. Charlize’s punches find their mark, but have little effect — Lima absorbs them, moving with finesse. Her remarkably tight abs are her shield. Her breathing is steady even as Charlize grunts as she throws each strike. When Adriana counters, she feigns a high jab, but then her fist thundered into Charlize’s gut.
Theron is staggered, air fleeing her lungs. She takes two steps back.
Charlize centers herself. She’s boxed beasts before. She steps back in, responding with flurries of motion. She moves, she jabs, then picks her shots, putting her shoulders into her body shots aiming to break Lima down as she tests her defenses.
She discovers that Adriana’s resolve is unyielding. She doesn’t back up. Lima blocks what she can, eats the rest. Lima keeps her guard high to counter Charlize’s relentless jab. She turns to take those body shots to her ribs and forearms. Charlize can feel her knuckles bruise. In a bit, Lima counters. Each fist she throws is deliberate, precise, controlled. One hit drives into Charlize’s solar plexus; the next two slams low into her abdomen. The action star is doubled over, gasping, her strength crumbling under the steady rhythm of Lima’s storm.
Charlize falls to her knees, her eyes wide with disbelief. She’s trained for decades — fought stuntmen, athletes, boxed in the FCBA — but this is different. Adriana doesn’t fight for show. She’s all in, a deliberate, confident machine.
Theron shakes of fleeting desperate thoughts. She lunges, tackling Adriana’s midsection. The hit connected, driving Lima back a step, but not down. The model stumbles, then steadies — her balance recovered by sheer muscle memory. Charlize is upright, grabs Lima by her hair, twists hard, landing a knee into Lima’s crotch, and then to her gut. Therona backhands Lima across her mouth. Once more, Charlize slams her knee to the Brazilian’s belly, finally doubling her up. Charlize steps to one side to slam her forearm across the back of her foe’s neck. Adriana splats down on her belly. Theron quickly lands a knee drop to her back. Adriana grunts, trying to push up but Theron is on her feet and quickly jumps on Lima’s back, tangles both hands into Adriana’s hair for reins as she attempts to ride her to the grass.
Lima resists. Bracing her arms and knees, she begins to power their combined weight up. Charlize quickly slips to one side and locks her long, lethal legs around Andriana’s waist. As they clench shut, Lima drops down, grunting hard and trapped. Theron feels the rush of relief as she finally has her beast subdued. She has submitted many foes with the power of her dancer’s legs. She squeezes and pulses her legs, smiling as she sees the pain on her foe’s face.
“Your abs may look good, but they can’t hold up to my legs,” Theron chortles.
Adriana struggles. She can’t break free, but slowly, despite the punishment that her midsection absorbs, she struggles to slowly twist her body around, facing Charlize. Theron yanks and jerks on her hair, attempting to hold the model in place. Lima slowly works her legs forward and her butt up, lifting Charlize up with her, leaving only her shoulders on the grass. Theron frees one hand to reach back and latch onto Lima’s left ankle to trip her, but to no avail. Lima is fully upright. Adriana places her hands on her foe’s legs and pushes down. Charlize’s scissors slips to the model’s hips. Adriana centers herself, lets out a roar, then twists hard to one size, nearly turning Theron into a Boston crab. Charlize adroitly kicks free, having found new respect for Lima’s strength and conditioning.
Theron is up quickly, turning to face her foe. Definitely, Lima slaps her abs as she advances. Theron’s foot lashes out, on a head-hunting trajectory. Adriana catches it mid-air. A single shove sent Charlize reeling down. Back on her feet, Theron charges and throws a headlock on the model pulling her head down. Lima grunts and powers upright. She puts a counter headlock on Charlize. They struggle for position. The actress loses this battle. Lima’s biceps bulge as she tightens her grip. She uses her hip to keep Theron off balance.
“Give up or I’ll snap your neck,” Lima threatens.
“Fuck off!” is Theron’s reply.
Charlize rakes her fingernails across Adriana’s belly and back. The model curses and throws the actress to the grass. Charlize struggles to her feet as Adriana examines the angry scratches on her body. Charlize rushes forward, intending to shoulder Adriana off-balance. But Lima braces herself and catches her in a bear hug as their bodies slam together. Charlize finds herself lifted off the ground. Lima’s strength is, literally, breath-taking. Theron’s legs thrash and kick. She wraps her arms around her captor’s head, grabs her hair and pops a fist into side of the model’s face. Lima curses and throws her to the ground.
Charlize looks up at her opponent. Now Lima stands above her, sweat glistening on her shoulders, chest rising and falling in steady rhythm. Not a pant, not a sign of fatigue. Just controlled calm—the eye of the storm.
Charlize tries to crawl away, but Adriana seizes an ankle and drags her around the lawn with an ease that makes their struggles look almost unfair. She twists Charlize onto her back. Straddling her chest, Lima takes one arm and then the other, pinning Theron in a school girl pin with nearly effortless, slow and deliberate movements. Charlize struggles, but the weight above her is immovable — all that runway grace has turned into pure, disciplined strength.
“You said would be no competition,” Adriana said, her tone low and dangerous. “That your age is just a number?” She leans close, her shadow falling across Charlize’s face. “This is me, taking your old, sorry ass down a notch.?”
Adriana has shifted forward, sitting higher, pinning Charlize’s wrists above her head with one hand. Each word she speaks is punctuated with a measured slap — not of anger, but dominance. A lesson. Her other fist hovers over the actress’s stomach.
“You wanted a good promotional fight? Here it is.”
Adriana pounds Charlize belly. Each punch lands clean and controlled — hard enough to drive the air from Charlize’s lungs. Adriana takes her time. There are too many blows to count. She smiles at the camera between strikes.
When she finally stops, Lima’s looks calm, just a bit disheveled, but radiant. Charlize lays beneath her, trembling, her face pale and slick with sweat.
Adrian stands, walking around the wreckage of Charlize Theron. She stoops to jerk the actress to her feet. With an arm around her waist, the model parades the ‘action star’ around the lawn. Stopping in front of the crowd, Lima wraps a hand on Charlize’s chin and pulls her close to the camera.
“Smile, Charlize, this is the money shot!” Lima chortles.
And… as a wise woman recently offered “getting old sucks!”
