Fetishes hereditary?
« on: December 17, 2025, 05:00:45 PM »
Do you think this fetish (or any) is hereditary?  I ask because I think one or both of my parents loved catfighting.  My dad passed a year ago and we had to put mom into a home.  While ceaning out their home I found some old Super8 movies.  I took them home and found a old projector on FB.  The movies were of wrestling matches between my mom and  some of the neighbors wifes.  It also included other women wrestling each other.  I got really hard watching these.  I'm guessing these were filmed back in the late 60s and early 70s.  There was one where my mom lost to this big titted blonde that I watched about 20 times.

I think so. My dad had some material and an early catfight book.  My maternal grandfather always seemed to find a movie with a catfight, and seems like my mother and grandmother always made a point of telling of catfights at the factory or around town.  He helped at a local theatre and was slow to break up a fight, managed to get there after both had all the buttons torn from their blouses and some hair on the floor...or maybe was just smart enough to avoid a stray claw until they wore down a bit lol.  One of the factory fights had two girls who caught each other in the bathroom when it wasn't break and cut each other up quite a bit with some small sharp sissors they used to trim shoe soles.  Later that week he was told that both were still at the hospital for a bit.  Never heard if they settled it afterwards though.

I would guess not genetic hereditary.  If your folks were making super 8 films of your mom's catfights they were clearly more into it than 98% of the people.  Chances are if your folks are that into it, you might have gotten subtle clues that transferred to you.  I have no direct evidence my father was into this, but I know I saw From Russia with Love with him several times and 10 Million years BC at least once with him.  I heard him Say how Tough and Sexy certain Female TV Personalities were.  And I know some of my teachers and friends mothers were intimidated by my mom.  I am sure those probably influenced my interests.  I learned what Sexy by what my dad thought was sexy.
I love catfights and chatting.  Look me up on trillian at ljack66   (I think... just figuring Trillian out)   https://www.deviantart.com/ljack66

So, the choice in fetishes is usually experience related, like personally developed in response to your environment, and not hereditary.  But there might be some hereditary element to your susceptibility to develop a fetish of some kind.  Genes do play a role in how your brain is "wired" up.  I suppose I have a fetish as one who loves to fight other women.  But I can assure you that my parents have no such fetish.  They may well have a fetish of some kind that I do not know about. Indeed, I am certain that they would be horrified if they learned that I was into fighting and do fight others.

Research suggests that behavioral traits, which could include fetishes, can be hereditary but not 100% of the time.

For example, criminal behavior can be hereditary even when the child is NOT raised by the biological parent. This data comes from children of pregnant mothers who were sent to prison to serve very long sentences and their child was put up for adoption.

When I was interviewing prisoners in a state penitentiary, I quickly discovered that many of the inmates had multiple relatives housed in the same prison system. Other people (including myself) often have family trees with no criminal histories whatsoever.

We studied this in college. It was very interesting...

Now that you mention it, both my mother and grandmother never missed wrestling on Saturday mornings. I watched only to see the occasional women's match. I do remember my mother showing me picture of her wrestling in the yard with a neighbor lady and it turned me on every  time I saw it.
