Should I choose to do that, what would be the better course of action for an immediate sequel?  A rematch?  Introducing a new character/fighter?  Changing up the dynamic a little?  All questions I'd like to figure out, because I know for me, the first sequel is absolutely what makes or breaks a series.

For me, I think a rematch makes more sense.  Now that Maisie has gotten a taste for it and knows what to expect, she'll be better prepared to give Emery a much more serious challenge.

This might sound like a cop-out, but my recommendation would be to just go with what you, as the author, thinks works and is motivating to you.  This is your story and your characters, we're just along for the ride.  Given what you've written here, I think this is a very good start, but it also works pretty well as a standalone story.  The reason a lot of sequels don't work well is because they don't capture the same magic of the first, and/or change too much about the story/characters.  I feel like you've got enough ability to do it justice however you feel.  But I also put a lot of value in writing what you want first, and if that aligns with everyone else, then that's a bonus.

Or maybe the neighbour hears some or all of the fight and starts asking questions

For a series, I can see them going to the clubs or the gym and finding new people to fight, maybe even a tag team at some point. A big turn on for me was the body punishment during their fight. Hopefully that continues in their fights.

I appreciate your frequent very specific requests, but I can't say I'd be into that myself so I doubt I can make that happen for you in this story.  That said, I do actually take commissions!

Like the other commenters, I too loved this VERY sexy story. Using Maisy as the 1st person voice was a great choice. Loved it very much.
