Beautiful Witch vs. Sexy Vampire: A Halloween Tale
                                                                            By: Supporturgoddess

Jagged lightning danced across a darkening sky. A powerful cold front brought a taste of autumn to the tiny Midwestern tale of Orchid. High winds made old houses creak and groan. Flags flapped madly. Fallen leaves blew across the ground and swirled around a pair of boots.
A beautiful young woman stood silently, her long, blonde hair blowing in the wind. She stared at the church her family had attended for generations, now a dark and foreboding structure silhouetted against the flashing sky. The other inhabitants of the small town feared the coming storms, but Stacy Sandstorm, farm girl, churchgoer, and town sweetheart, embraced the changing weather. Of all the citizens of Orchid, she alone celebrated the autumnal equinox. The citizens of Orchid were devoutly religious folk who divided almost evenly into four groups, Baptists, Catholics, Lutherans, and Methodists. There was, however, one other, who secretly stood apart and alone. There was Stacy Sandstorm, daughter of a Sunday school teacher, town sweetheart, farmer’s daughter…and witch.
Stacy discovered her talents at an early age. She had visions, glimpses of the future which always came true. She grew curious about The Occult. She bought books on Witchcraft and other subjects, books she hid from her strict parents. Little by little, she learned The Craft.
Although old enough to live out on her own, Stacy still lived with her parents. Though the dark arts were forbidden, there was another subject even more taboo in her parents’ minds. Stacy was not allowed to discuss or learn anything about sex. That, her parents believed, was something she could discover only after marriage. Though she was past the age of consent, she knew less about the subject than younger girls. The older she grew, the more curious she became. Her body ached for forbidden pleasures. She hungered.
That night as the storm raged, another hunger came to town, a dark, primal, insatiable hunger older than mankind. That night, a vampire came to Orchid. Evie Gale had once been very much like Stacy. She too had been a very good girl with an intense curiosity about forbidden subjects. Evie went in search of darkness. She found it, when a vampire found her. She met a handsome, smooth-talking young man who had her head spinning with promises of undying passion and eternal love. He lured her to a dark and secluded spot far from prying eyes. His words were lies used a thousand times before to lure countless other girls to their doom. He had planned merely to feed on the girl, but Evie was something special. Her dark, golden hair shimmered in the torchlight, and her blue eyes were hypnotic. She was too delicious to waste. Once the girl was helpless under his spell, he tasted every inch of her, taking all he could. Then he fed. He drank too long, too deep. By doing so, he made Evie into a vampire.
For a short time he stayed with her. They shared passion no human could comprehend, but such creatures no nothing of true love. A vampire’s heart can be a fickle thing. Evie was something special, but there were countless other girls for the tasting. He grew bored with Evie and left her. He left a fledgling vampire, untrained and inexperienced, all alone to fend for herself. Worst of all, he left her with only the memory of her nights of passion.
Evie knew little of the ways of a hunter. That left her vulnerable and afraid.  Though vampires are fearsome hunters, they are often hunted. Vampires of Evie’s kind are vulnerable by day. They must fear being discovered. Evie was desperate to find a strong hand, a partner capable of taking charge and protecting her. Evie hungered. She sought a companion, but she refused to do to some innocent boy what her maker had done to her. She refused to make a fledgling vampire, only to leave him alone and afraid when she grew bored. She was determined to find one perfect young man who she could love throughout eternity. She would then make him a vampire and enslave him to her…forever.
For obvious reasons, Evie tended to sleep through the days, especially on Sundays, but Stacy was up at sunrise. Having not yet made any oaths to the powers of darkness, Stacy still attended church each weekend. Stacy paid little attention, but it kept her parents happy. Stacy carried a Bible complete with a small, silver cross bookmark, but she hadn’t read it. She usually left it in the glove compartment of her father’s old car.
The family hurried inside the old church and found their usual seats. This was an important day at the church, as the congregation welcomed their new pastor. The preacher was an old and unimpressive man.
The preacher spoke. “I’d like everyone to welcome my son, Daniel.”
Every head turned. Stacy’s blue eyes widened. The preacher’s boy was about Stacy’s age. He stood 6’2” tall and boasted broad shoulders and a muscular chest. Candlelight shone against his wavy, red hair and tanned cheeks. He smiled, revealing very straight, very white teeth.
“I’m Daniel. You can call me Danny.”
Overheated old women fluttered their fans. Every woman present from eight to eighty instantly fell in love with the handsome young man. Stacy loved him most of all. She was sure she had found the man for her, the man who would teach her all the forbidden, carnal arts she longed to understand. Stacy fell deeply, madly, head-over-heels in love for the first time. She counted the days until she would have the chance to impress him, at the town dance.
As the day of the dance grew near, Stacy began to worry. Stacy WAS the prettiest girl in town by far, but her strict parents wouldn’t let her show it. Though she was past the age of consent, her parents still treated her as a child. Though Stacy was indeed more beautiful than her competition, the other girls knew far more about men and how to attract them. They were sure to arrive at the dance wearing the kind of low-cut, leg-revealing dresses her mother would not let her wear. Stacy began to fear some other girl would seduce the handsome preacher’s boy away from her. That was something Stacy refused to allow!
Fear growing, Stacy took out her tarot cards and attempted to divine the future. The cards warned that a seductive devil would try to steal the young boy’s heart.
Desperate to win the preacher’s boy’s heart and terrified of losing him, Stacy turned to The Occult to bewitch the preacher’s boy.
“I’ll just work a little spell,” she told herself. “I’ll only make him see me in the best possible light. I’ll just make him see all my best features. That’s not really cheating, well, not much….”
Stacy worked her spell and then turned her attention to the dance.
The big night finally arrived. Stacy drove to the dance hall in her father’s jalopy. She looked up at a sickle moon and crossed her fingers, silently calling on magic to help her in her mission to win the boy’s heart. She parked and entered. The hall was decorated with scarecrows, bales of hay, and other harvest-related decoration. She spotted the preacher’s son, surrounded by attentive young ladies, each vying for his attention. The game was on. The moment the boy looked into Stacy’s huge, blue eyes, he couldn’t look away. He lost all interest in the other girls and only showed interest in Stacy, as though he was…spellbound. The two danced and talked. Stacy’s heart soared.
       Everything was going perfectly, until….
A powerful gust of unusually cold wind threw open the dance hall doors. The temperature dropped. In walked a tall, slender woman with dark blue eyes and pale skin. Her shoulder-length, golden hair was much darker than Stacy’s longer, light-blonde locks. She wore a skin-tight black dress and heels. No one had ever seen a dress cut so low at the neckline or slit so high at the thigh. Her long legs were left free and bare for every man present to drool over.
Stacy’s mouth dropped open in shock, as the preacher’s boy left her to go and meet the sexy newcomer.
Evie Gale had come to town in search of a perfect mate. She took one look at the handsome preacher’s son and felt sure she had found the man of her dreams. Stacy watched in helpless frustration, as Evie stole the boy away from her. Evie was well aware of Stacy’s jealousy and delighted in it. She deliberately danced with the boy right in front of Stacy, just to make her jealous. Sadomasochism was Evie’s special delight. She thrilled in stealing the boy right out of Stacy’s hands, laughing in her face while she did it, and then rubbing Stacy’s nose in her defeat.
Stacy balled her fists. She was furious, but she had to think twice about fighting the new girl. Though she was curvier and had better breasts than Evie, Stacy was almost half a foot shorter. Even so, Evie’s taunts were too much to bear. Stacy might have started a fight, if she hadn’t caught a fleeting glance of a mirror just as Evie and Daniel danced past it. She saw Daniel in the mirror, but Evie cast no reflection! Stacy’s heart pounded. She almost fainted. She had been taught to believe in devils and demons. Well versed in The Occult, Stacy knew there was only one possibility. Evie was a real, live vampire! Worse still, she was after the boy Stacy loved!
Terrified, Stacy ran from the dance hall. Suddenly the tarot card reading made perfect sense. Stacy had crossed paths with a vampire! Evie already had the preacher’s boy wrapped around her little finger. She only needed to get him alone long enough to make the boy into a vampire and enslave him to her, forever! Stacy’s eyes widened. She ran to her car.
Back in the dance hall, Evie basked in her victory. Her plan had worked perfectly. She had seduced the innocent farm boy, leaving him entranced Her plans were working perfectly, until….
The beautiful young witch returned.  The preacher’s son introduced the two women. Stacy tried to wrench Evie’s arm from around Daniel’s waist, but Evie’s arm was like iron.
“Daniel,” Stacy said sweetly, “would you go and get us some punch?” She glared at Evie. “There’re a few things I need to say to Evie”
Amused by Stacy’s challenge, Evie simply smiled.
The preacher’s son shrugged and walked off.
As soon as everyone was out of earshot, Stacy glared hard at Evie and whispered, “I know who and what you are! You’d better leave before I--”
“Before you do what?” Evie asked. Evie literally laughed in Stacy’s face. “I know your secret too, witch! Ha! Don’t look so surprised. I smelled your feeble magic from miles away. I saw you out in that churchyard staring at the approaching storms on the night I arrived. I would have finished you then and there, except--”
Stacy’s eyebrow rose. “I was on hallowed ground! You couldn’t set foot on hallowed ground!”
Evie sneered. “You’re NOT on hallowed ground now, witch!” Evie clamped her palm around Stacy’s chin and jaw and hissed, “I could crush your skull and feel you ooze out between my fingers, witch!”
“Here and now, with so many witnesses?” Stacy’s heart pounded, but she refused to back down. “I’m not afraid of you, Evie!”
        Evie snarled, “You should be!”
Stacy reached into her handbag and pulled out the little silver bookmark she had retrieved from her father’s car. The silver cross flashed before Evie’s eyes!
Evie frowned and her eyes blazed. She tightened her grip and lifted Stacy off her feet! Stacy whimpered, sure her jaw would break!
Evie spoke in threatening tones. “You have to have sincere faith for that to work on my kind. You turned your back on that faith when you embraced dark magic, like the magic used in your pathetic little love spell!”
       “Is there a problem?”
       The preacher’s son returned.
Startled, Evie put Stacy down. “No. There’s no problem. Stacy was confused. I had to explain how things are.”
The corners of Stacy’s full, pink lips curled into a wicked smile. “I have a present for you, Daniel.” Stacy took the silver cross and looped a small chain through a small opening at the top. Stacy then stood on her toes and put the cross around the boy’s neck.
Stacy said, “This is really a gift from the entire congregation. Be sure you ALWAYS wear it, so we know you’re thinking of us.”
Evie’s wide eyes stared at the silver cross around the boy’s neck. She slowly backed away.
Stacy walked past Evie, bumping Evie’s shoulder back with her own. Evie almost fell. Suddenly Evie was as weak as a kitten.
Stacy whispered in Evie’s ear. “Maybe I no longer have enough faith, but HE does! Try to go near him now!”
Evie stared at the silver cross, glared into Stacy’s eyes, and backed out of the hall.
Stacy sidled up against the preacher’s son, smiled up at him, and took the prize.
Evie stormed out into the night. Teeth bared and gritted, she looked up at the moon, balled her fists, and screamed in sheer rage. Stacy had outsmarted her! She had lost…to a witch!
Evie ran into the night with visions of Stacy and the preacher’s boy stabbing into her like a stake through her heart.

As days passed, a dark and evil presence filed the air over Orchid. Black magic permeated the town. In one corner of the small town a beautiful young witch practiced increasingly dark magic. In the opposite corner of the little town, a gorgeous vampire brooded and swore revenge. Round one had gone to the witch, but though Evie was down, she was far from out. She had no intention of letting Stacy keep the prize. Evie was ready for round two!
Stacy had the preacher’s boy all to herself. She should have been in paradise, but instead she was in Hell, for she knew she had crossed swords with a vampire. Though witches lack some of the weaknesses vampires have, in some ways vampires are far stronger than witches. Stacy protected her home with numerous charms and spells, but Evie could build up immunity to Stacy’s magic quickly. Stacy was forced to delve into the darkest of powers, just to keep her home safe. Daylight provided some security, but Stacy could easily imagine Evie wrapping herself from head to toe like a ninja and leaping out of the shadows to slay her. How could she remain one step ahead of the supernatural world’s apex predator?
Some nights Stacy peered out through her window curtains and saw Evie out in the cornfield just beyond the reach of her protection spells. The vampire was stalking her, watching her as she slept and waiting for a chance to kill her in her sleep. A beautiful young witch cried herself to sleep each night and woke from horrendous nightmares. The joy she hoped for when she experienced love for the first time had been replaced with terror.
Round two went to the vampire.
As time passed, the tables turned again. Desperate for the power she needed to fight Evie, Stacy took the ancient oaths. She made her choices, giving herself to the darkest of powers. Her fear of Evie turned to burning hatred. She wanted to drive a stake through Evie’s heart… and then to slowly twist it.
Unable to hurt Evie physically, she found another way. Stacy knew Evie watched her every night. She also knew the cross she gave the preacher’s son kept Evie from going near him. Stacy called the young man to her home at night. They sat on a fence at the edge of her family’s property, just within the safety of the protection spells. Stacy kissed and hugged the boy both girls wanted, knowing Evie was somewhere in the darkness, watching them and burning up with jealousy! Stacy opened the top buttons on her blouse, revealing much of her ample, round breasts. The young man could not resist them.
Evie watched helplessly. Evie couldn’t quite choose between bursting into tears or screaming with rage. Evie wanted the young man every bit as much as Stacy did, and she needed him far more. Evie watched, as the young man she loved put his hands on HER body and ran fingers through HER hair. Stacy’s giggling laughter felt like fingernails clawing at Evie’s flesh. The ideal young man was falling in love, not with Evie, but with HER! As Evie watched the young man entranced by the witch’s beauty, Evie’s pain was beyond description.
Finally, the preacher’s boy left. Knowing the cross still protected him, Evie could only watch helplessly as he vanished into the night.
Stacy looked out at the darkness and flashed a victorious, satisfied smile meant for Evie to see.
Evie simply couldn’t take any more. She charged…and fell into a trap!
Rather than acting as some sort of barrier, all of Stacy’s charms discharged at once. Evie screamed, slammed to her knees by a terrible electric shock. Stacy reached under a bush and pulled out a hammer and wood stake she had hidden earlier! Stacy kicked Evie down and sat on Evie, pinning her down. Stacy never flinched. From her perspective, Evie was merely an undead thing, not a woman. Evie looked up in horror! Stacy pressed the stake between Evie’s breasts and lifted the hammer high, ready to bring it down and hammer the stake into Evie’s heart! Evie screamed in fear, twisting her body between Stacy’s legs. The stake missed Evie’s heart by in inch!
Evie kicked Stacy off her and rose. Suddenly the situation reversed. Stacy’s charms were spent and powerless, and she had lost her only weapon. Stacy’s blue eyes were as wide as saucers, as she watched Evie rise. Evie slammed her fist into Stacy’s stomach with such force she lifted Stacy off the ground. Evie slapped her palm across Stacy’s face so hard Stacy flew up horizontal to the earth, spun around twice, and then hit the dirt. Stacy lie shattered and helpless at the vampire’s feet.
Evie extended her fangs. “I’m going to enjoy this, Witch!”
Evie lowered to finish the witch.
Stacy pulled a tiny vile of holy water from her pocket and splashed it into Evie’s face! Evie fell off and let out a high-pitched scream, kicking in the air and stomping the dirt in pain. Temporarily blinded, she leapt up and ran into the night.
Stacy groaned. One leg stretched out on the ground. Only Evie’s weakened condition had prevented her from finishing Stacy then and there. Stacy’s ribs were badly bruised and her jaw ached. She had to crawl back into her home.
Round three was a draw that left both girls hurting. Neither would give up. A supernatural fight to the finish had begun!

I like how you didn't fall into the old trap of making the vampire a dark ahired brunette (not that I have any issues with brunettes, its just so overdone to make a vampire brunette in short stories.).
