Thank you to everyone who voted! The results are in and both Philippine and Korea advance to the Final Fight!
Both matches were painfully close, a dead heat til the very end yet only two women were able to leave the octagon on their own two feet.
While the options were either a blowout or a close match (and both winners technically won by blowout) since the votes were so close,
I will have to say that both matches were a grueling contest to the finish and the winners barely beat their opponents.
The underdog Philippine seemed doomed from the beginning as the bigger China dominated the match but was it China's overconfidence or Philippine's undying fight to stay alive that seemed to turn the tides toward the end of the match as the younger girl seemingly pulled the biggest upset we will ever witness at BTAQ. It was both a marvelous and uncomfortable sight seeing China being dominated and thrown around the cage walls by her scrappier, inexperienced opponent.
The second fight was even closer as the battle was just as vicious and ugly as everyone thought it would be. Both Japan and Korea traded punches and kicks as if they had no thought about the fact that they had to fight again the next night. In the end, it was decided not by who had the better physique or training but who wanted it more. You could hear the frustration and anger in Japan's final screams. Korea was about to collapse as she raised her hands to the crowd as she placed her foot on the knocked out Japan. This was an intense fight.
So, the stage is set. All four ladies are swiftly treated with the most advanced medical equipment and staff. China and Japan obviously have it worse but there seems to be no advantages or disadvantages in terms of health as no fighter cruised through their first match. So first off is China vs. Japan to decide who will take 3rd place and a desperately needed win and who will end up Last and end up the Loser of the tournament. Both fighters are furious that they lost their bout, China being embarrassed by such a 'weaker' opponent and Japan being defeated by her country rival. The tension between these two nations cannot be ignored either as this fight seems to be destined for a savage end.
The final match between Korea and Philippine will surely be a lights-out affair as both women are hungry for the top. While these two have never really had troubles with each other, they both know that the other girl is standing in their way to the crown. Will Philippine end up as the least-expected Queen and complete her cinderella story? Or will Korea take the crown and finally prove that she is the best out of East Asia? We shall see...
