Halle Berry
Catherine BellROUND 1: As expected, Catherine was the more aggressive in the opening minutes of the bout, testing Halle's defenses with a series of jabs and crosses. Berry weathered the onslaught well, taking the measure of her opponent and gauging her strengths and weaknesses. The round was proceeding largely as the Vegas prognosticators had expected, with Bell on track to take it on points, and Berry conserving herself for the following two rounds.
The thing of it is, Catherine was never one to stick to anybody else's script. As the final seconds of the round ticked down, she waiting until her opponent dropped her guard a bit, and when Halle did...
WHAM! A lightning fast uppercut caught the unwary beauty square on the chin, knocking her to her butt on the canvas. As time expired in the round, Halle was saved by the bell, but Cat's message was clear: She wasn't here to win this fight on points...she was going to destroy her rival!
ROUND 2: More cautious now, Halle came out pressing hard, deciding the best defense was a good offense. She rocked Catherine hard, battering her to the ropes time and again, but Bell's strong arms absorbed much of the punishment. Sweat glistened across the skin of both battlers, as reserves of strength were begun to be tapped by each. As the clock ticked down, Bell suddenly roared to life, unleashing a new assault of her own which caught her adversary by surprise. Still, Halle more than held her own...until she walked into a clever feint by Cat, and was nailed by a solid left cross to the jaw. Berry stumbled back on rubbery legs and then fell, catching the ropes with one arm. Luckily for her, the time limit ran out, and she was again saved from a TKO.
But Halle knew full well now that if she was going to win, she had to hit her foe with everything she had in the final round, and not make any more mistakes.
ROUND 3: The third and last round was a symphony of brilliant violence as both gorgeous warriors unleashed every last bit of power and skill. Halle was a magnificent ebony Amazon, fighting flawlessly...and against any other opponent, that would suffice. But Cat was equally as genius in her fighting, with the result being a veritable stalemate between the two.
But circumstances began to change in the last few minutes of the fight, as arms grew leaden and speed dwindled. For every punch Berry threw, Bell answered with two...and then three. Halle was increasingly sluggish in her inability to block or dodge blows, and a slight glaze began to frost over her once-piercing eyes. She was fading, and everyone knew it...most of all, Catherine.
With a viper's smile, Bell went in for the kill, pounding away at her rival with everything she had left in her arsenal. A fantastic right cross/left uppercut combo took Berry off of her feat, dumping her unceremoniously in a heap upon the canvas. She squirmed and moaned in protest as the referee made his count, but made no credible effort to rise. Finally, the official reached ten and the final bell tolled. To add insult to injury, Catherine planted her right boot upon the heaving chest of her beaten foe and raised her arms in a victory pose.
