Seems like everyday there's a new retro-TV channel popping up. There's a lost of cool stuff out there that I saw as a kid and never dreamed I'd see again and even be able to record.
Burke's Law had a couple of great fights, one I hadn't seen since I was about 8 years old was actually from "Amos Burke, Secret Agent". They morphed Burke's Law into a spy show to cash in on the James Bond, or Man from UNCLE craze. Amos Burke is on a mission to some tiny Eastern European country and he's helped by a sexy Gypsy flamenco dancer. At the end of the show he's having dinner at the club where she dances with a blonde bombshell who claims to be a princess and wants him to finance her father returning to power. The Gypsy taps out in Morse code as she dances telling Burke the blonde is a phony. The Gypsy is wearing her short dancing costume with fishnets and the blonde is in a skin tight evening gown. (it's B&W). The blonde must know Morse code because she stands up and shouts "That's a lie you cheap Gypsy" in a Brooklyn accent and goes after the dancer, they roll around on the floor for a good while and show a lot of leg to the amusement of the crowd. Burke just casually drinks and enjoys the show.
A show I never thought I'd ever see again, because it didn't last that long is "Name of the Game". It also starred Gene Barry as a magazine publisher. I only saw this show once and I was surprised how well I remembered it. He goes to Berlin to meet with the wife of a kidnapped US agent. Anne Francis plays the wife and I've been in love with her since "Honey West" which also featured a few short but sexy catfights.
He takes her to a club in Berlin where these hot 1960's bar maids are in tiny black shorts and red vest with seamed stockings, 2 of them are dancing on stage while 3 or 4 others appear to just be randomly making out with customers. The 2 dancers on stage open a trap door and out comes two blondes in gold robes and red one-piece bathing suits, they could be twins but I'm not sure. This one scene, again I'm surprised how well I remember, the one girl has the other in a leg lock and the tortured girl is pounding on the mat. One of the dancers, who are now acting as referees, brings her a large beer stein and girl drinks in down while still in the leg lock.
The girls wrestle in the background the whole time Barry and Francis are talking, one of the sexiest aspects to me is, instead of being freaked out, Anne acts like she's having a blast and seems to enjoy that this is really turning her escort on.
When they break for commercial, I figure that scene is over, but they come back to the club and one girl is pinned while the 2 dancers/referees try to pull the winner off the beaten girl. She acts like she's not done punishing her opponent, but finally stands and strikes a victory pose. They stay with the scene long enough to show both girls going into the crowd and making out with customers. That's very hot to me, would have loved to put a lip lock on the loser after that fight.
