post imagesShiri Appleby was seating on a table and looked at Sarah Michelle Gellar. Sarah was all business and Shiri appreciated that but they’ve known each other a long time and never once did they think of fighting each other.
“Seat down with me Sarah.”
Sarah sat on the opposite side not taking her eyes off Shiri. Years ago Shiri was a little waif, someone not worth thinking about other than to say how cute. She grew up and started fighting and was pretty good but never was it someone she thought that she’d be trading blows with.
Shiri stared at sarah, when they were first out of their teens she feared Sarah. She beat up Kristin Kreuk but never ever thought of this. Sarah Michelle Gellar vs Shiri Appleby
“I never thought this would be you.” Sarah said
“I knew all along I’d have to go through yyou I just can’t believe I’m about to fight you.”
They sat there wondering “You and Kreuk are different than Kreuk ad Tal…”
“Kristin is like you for that stand up as is Alona… I am like you for the cattiness and ability to get vicious.”
Sarah smiled “I called Kristin and asked about you and she said that you’ll make me hurt.”
Sarah watched a smile form on Shiri’s face “That bitch!” She ‘hated’ Kristin the truth was she loved the battles they had afterwards. During those three fights especially the first two it was everything in her not to break Kreuk’s neck. The third one was the most brutal and her best ever fight but she ended up knocked out cold. It was supposed to be the end but Kristin left it open for a third fight before she left.
“She said she won’t give insight on how to fight you and I need to go in and figure it out.”
Shiri looked up, she always believed that to be true about herself. It was similar to sarah, she started fights different. Never the same, with Kristin she always liked to start the fight with a punch especially if you could’t get at her hair.
“Ok, well then.” Shiri stood up “No matter what happens here I’m glad we never fought before or won’t fight again.”
“I don’t want to be ending up on tables ad shit… Let’s make a ring out of the tables.”
Shiri shrugged her shoulders and they went around one woman at one end and the other on the other end turning the table onto its side and as they got halfway. “First fight with Kreuk, where was it.”
“Dressing room over a part… She was into catfighting then, slapped her she slapped me and we tore into each other. Really where we fought so young and it got so intense there is a level of desire to hurt the other that is there.”
“You know its funny now that I think about it, this tournament I’ve been methodical and she’s been methodical. I think beating you will be how I need to beat her but its to bad we’ll never fight like that.”
“How are we going to fight.” It was the final table and Sarah looked and crack shiri had acted quick taking a quick step and hit a punch that put Sarah over the table. “Oh I forgot to mention I’m quick.”
She reached over the table and grabbed Sarah by the hair and started to lift her up and as she got Sarah up so much she ended up taking a right in the ribs. Sarah hit a left to the ribs and a right and left. Shiri lost her grip on Sarah’s hair and was pushed away.
Sarah Michelle Gellar jumped over the table “Ok yeah you are and it wasn’t a cheap shot. I should have been prepared.”
Shiri bounced around left fist up by her jaw and sarah got both hands up “You are going to regret this.”
“Don’t live in regret Sarah.”
Sarah went for a jab and was throwing the right behind it without bringing the left back for protection. Shiri crouched down and came up under Sarahs arms and hands into Sarah’s hair. She pulled down and slammed her body into Gellars and sent the former action star down.
Sarah hit hard but this was muscle reflex for her. She had more fights total than her entire bracket. She twisted her stomach and turned Shiri over but when she went for top Shiri lifted her hips and Gellar wasn’t prepared… Bitch had skills at this.
They both twisted and turned and worked their way up on their feet but were hauling heads downwards by the hair. They realized it was a stalemate and it was Shiri “Count of three.”
“Yup… One, Two…” Sarah gave a extra yank but Shiri also gave that extra yank.
“Three..” They let go and back away and fixed their hair. Scalps on fire, they massaged away. “You didn’t let go.”
“Nor you. Sarah don’t think I’m falling for that shit or falling to your games like Dragon lady. I’m going to give you my all and you have to give me your all. Hopefully one of us drops before it goes to war levels.”
Experience, desire and a woman with a goal. This was a fight Sarah knew would be a challenge just seeing who it was but those additional factors were something that worried her.
They walked around each other and both realized how close they were, Shiri threw a punch but it was just shy of Sarah and she got hit with a right then a left. Sarah’s arms were slightly longer and she liked this distance.
She threw another punch which Shiri sidestepped and countered with side kick to the ribs. Foot came down and she went for a backhanded slap but Sarah caught the arm and kicked the back of Shiri’s legs taking her down.
Gellar even in her late 30s was quick. She dropped an elbow on Sarah’s chest and reached grabbing Shiri by the sides of the hair and hit her head once to the ground but Appleby got her hand on Sarah’s mouth and pushed then started throwing her knees up hitting Gellar in the back.
Shiri felt she hit Gellar enough and though sarah was still pouring on offense she threw both legs up and kept lifting her stomach and was able to flip Sarah but Gellar was on her knees and pushed Shiri away.
They both got up “Not bad, Shiri.”
“Not bad yourself.”
The respect both had was apparent, those who were around Sarah when she watched Shiri win would tell you she had a polite nod of approval, then got up and started training.
Shiri won her last fight took a day off and started calling people for advice on what she needs to do to win. She actually called a woman she fought three times in Kristin Kreuk much like Sarah called Kristin about Shiri. She wanted that advice but it ended up being an argument between the two of them .
This was a fight that both took seriously. When Sarah looked at her bracket the only person she truly felt could beat her was Shiri. She sat down with Eliza Dushku and said how she’d beat the other six women and in two of those cases she was dead on even to the minute the fight would end. Shiri she just shrugged, said I’ll go in and figure it out.
