An encounter of an unusual kind is in store for

Carly Simon, at the age of seventy, challenged the thirty year old to a contest in which money was raised for charity.
In a battle of pop divas' voices she was confident to defeat Perry, and as the competition also included a beauty contest and a contestants' test of strength by arm wrestling she was equally positive that Katy was the right choice for her:
Carly: 'Without her makeup she [Katy] looks like a scarecrow. Apart from raising money for a good cause, I'm looking forward to making her lose to me in a comparison of our looks, in spite of being 39 years younger than me. As far as our voices go, I guess she hasn't got one. Pick any three notes of any song and I'll sing her into oblivion with them. I want to see her face when she struggles against me on a stage. And then, to arm wrestle her - I think I can pin her in five seconds - she's in for a bad day, losing to a seventy year old great lady who shows her what a little girl she is.' Katy, not impressed with Carly's challenge, agreed to competing with her at the event, and commented on her rival's predictions:
Katy: 'Im thrilled to take part in raising money for such a good cause, but the task is really an underwhelming one for me. If she [Carly] was my age I could at least toy around with her for a while and have fun with it, but at her age? She may have had a great voice once but now I'll sing her out of competition with one note, even her range of octaves isn't worth anything now. She's also deluded about her looks - clearly I'm winning a comparison to her easily, no seventy year old woman can compare herself to me. And with arm wrestling she definitely can't scare me. I'll pin her so easily.'Unfortunately, it has been reported that after the contest the two women got into a heated argument backstage which escalated after a few minutes of hurling insults at each other. After Carly said,
'Be careful that I don't slap you silly, you ugly little duckling, I'm a lot taller than you!' Katy, frustrated at the seventy year old woman's stature, drew herself up to her full modest height and slapped Carly's face which resulted in Carly responding with a slap to Katy's face likewise... From that point onwards, to our deepest regret, we have to report that Carly and Katy ended up wrestling each other, ripping out each other's hair and testing the strength of their arms again while each woman strived to put her rival in a headlock with a strong enough grip to make her admit her defeat.
