They might be doing that so that someone trying to screw with the poll results has no idea how much they have to mess with things. See it deters people doing that or at least makes it really obvious..

There was reason to believe that someone was trying to alter the poll results. I accepted the moderators' suggestion to keep the results hidden until the poll is over. Personally I prefer to see how the battle goes but I will try and see what happens now
