Although I absolutely loved this story think it works better as a one off. The consequences and impact are lessened if there is a follow up - although I'm sure you'd do a great job.
and if the husband did not agree with this result? another fight in his presence?
The question is fair and grounded in reality, but I think it also depends on the husband. My grandfather was somewhat of a philanderer, so while he was still married to his second wife, they started to live together with the third. Needless to say, it led to a vicious catfight that my granddad thought to solve with pushing one of them away. It resulted in his future third wife miscarrying, so he was totally down with choosing one without a redo.
You know, I have had it suggested I continue this story, and do a part two. I feel like it works as a stand alone story, without a follow up, but at this point I've heard the request so many times, I'm starting to rethink that.
The only way to set up a sequel with the same ladies is, the husband demands it as you two suggested, or if ... ooooh, wait a minute ... I just had an idea! * Runs off to write part 2 *
I'm at the moment swamped with a commission, but would like to join others in asking here and on Hostboard, any progress on part 2?
Yeah, I have gotten about equal parts at this point, in terms of feedback. People who REALLY want a sequel, and those who feel like artistically it is better as a one off.
So at this point, I think I am just going to work on my other stories, and only write a sequel if I feel deeply compelled to do it.
....or maybe have Lauren steal someone else's husband now.
That being said, as Sinclair suggests, doesn't mean Claire and Lauren can't be in further stories without each other.
