(Sorry no clip) if any of you have Amazon prime tv there is a documentary on fight clubs dating back to the 1800’s in Georgian England, in this they have a very in depth on Female Alley Fighting, that was between the destitute Irish that moved into England, they explain detail how the fights were often topless or thin linen “under garments” , and often started as bare knuckle brawls NHB that soon after its start became raw catfights. Yes they cover more of the male boxing bare knuckle but there is a female author that tells of the females fighting for coin, also these fist fights were done between social elite that were required to hold coin in the fists while fighting, if either woman open her hand and dropped her coins she lost the fight.

Yes that is part of the segement on the history , they even showed the original area where the fights took place, the homes obviously changed but the church and the gateway arch into the neighborhood is still standing, there is suppose to be more on it in future episodes as they climb the time line into America and on, the same Irish in Britain come over here t oNY and basically end up i nthe same situation but with gangs of NY
