Fembox357 hit the nail head. Just do your thing. Your one of the few people even producing catfight stories in freehand anymore. The fact you write and complete the work earns you an attaboy! So keep on doing what you do and as far as your art goes my wife and I enjoy your style . It is unique, simple and original. If I want perfect proportions and shading I'll stare at some Poser models. Your stories are fun and at least you have a style, it may not be to everyone's liking but neither are catfights.

Thanks 10count. Yes I do intend to do my own thing, and draw what I like. I think drawing what you enjoy is an important part of art, and to me that's detail, especially in facial expression. When I draw fights I want to get the emotions you see on people in a fight, like anger, aggression, pain, fear, and it is that which gets the most praise, so some people like it, and I'm pleased you and your wife do. Your mentioning your wife reminds me that communication I've had with other girl fight artists show that I appeal to women much more than most artists, and indeed I've had commissions from quite a few.
Not everybody likes my art, which isn't surprising, as we all have different tastes. I actually agree with those who say my proportions aren't great, and perspective I don't want to even talk about! But I'm happy with what I do, I think that when I draw a fight, it looks like a fight, and that's the purpose of it.

Is it not a fact that most, note the word most, women would stand little chance in a fight with a man?
[/quote]

Nope as stated before its an opinion. Since explaining this simple concept to you is like teaching a dog a card trick, let us agree to disagree.

I have fought in the ring and the street, I outweigh her by 55 pounds and I have yet to win a single fight with my wife in 20 years. Their faster, smarter and they smell better than us. A woman is not as strong as a man, they are stronger. I would advise you abandon this thread before they find you, drag you into the street and beat you. Nutmeg is right. This is an opinion and like religion it should never be expressed as a fact. People will stone ya for it!

Sex, color, religion don't mean shit in a real fight. It's as always, not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog and crazy does help...Now that's a fact! ;)

Okay now lets pleaase be real, I have quit some martial arts experience and so have most of the men in my family. And since most men, well atleast the fighters i've met, are more agressive and HEAVIER then most women, They have a huuuge advantage, And from my own fighting experience: Of course the size of the dog matters!. I 've had sparring sessions with people who where 45 pounds heavier then me. even though I tried using my techniques, they mopped the floor with me just by using theire strengt.

I can't speak for 10count, but I think he's being humorous.
Interesting that you've done some martial arts. I saw a documentary on Aikido, and thought it looked a good way, if someone spent a lot of time practicing it, of escaping an attacker, even a much stronger one. It works against the joints, and as most attacks consist of grabbing initially, I thought Aikido techniques could cause an attacker enough pain to allow their intended victim time to escape. But the lady I know who teaches women's self-defence thinks not.

I also think a MAN who was 45 lbs lighter would have had trouble. So would have a man fighting a woman 45 lbs heavier. Your point?
Other than your martial arts teacher seems to love size mismatches for sparring.

There are many variables in a fight and between people. I have seen women give up that much weight in a fight and win. Why because they had more skill and were willing to damn near kill the guy to do it. Seen men do the same for similar reasons. Just because its an inherently misogynistic fetish doesn't mean you always get away with it scott free :)

Now can we return to discussing this guy's art? I tire of teaching canine card tricks :)

First off, I gotta get to know Nutmeg. Very spot on. Second-Indian fighter guy. The expression "fight in the dog" applies to real fights not ring or Dojo sparring. Weight definitely matters in a sparring session in fact fighting out of a 10 pound range shows negligence of an instructor, period. You can get killed, thus weight classes.

In a real or street fight the greatest danger is escalation of the fight either to a weapon or any other life threatening action. Some people will draw a knife or gun and use it very quickly. My friend Alex Gong was the victim of this and I was there in San Francisco when it happened.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Gong. I out weighed Alex by 40 pounds and I couldn't touch him. He was an amazing Thai Boxer and martial artist as well as a great human being. He died because he ran into crazy and that's why I noted it. At 18 I watched a "black belt" get stabbed to death by a smaller unskilled fighter in down town San Jose Ca at the Cinco Demayo festival. It was over in seconds. I mention these examples to clarify my point. Size, race, sex, religion do not matter. The will to kill without regard for the consequence is the deadliest weapon, period.

Finally, I do not believe John was trying to start a flame war. I am sure he is just trying to draw interest in his stories and art. In a ring a man has an advantage as John stated and that's just a matter of testosterone but I have met women who  through skill take that advantage away. I was beat by a female Thai Boxer after she damn near crippled me with leg kicks. My point is this is all in fun and broad statements may anger people but lets get back on point and support anyone who is willing to create and promote this odd fetish we share.

I'm sorry your friend met such a fate, it can be a crazy world sometimes.
As you say, I wasn't trying to start a flame war, but it should be noted only two people found my initial post offensive. Why is still beyond me. And the reason I joined this forum is to have fun exchanging messages with others, and, yes, promote my art, though that is the lesser reason as I don't struggle to find customers, especially for commissions. I've no problem with people being critical, but when it come to people using terms like your customers "must be as pathetic as you" and that, what was it, teaching tricks to a dog, or something like that, well I don't reply to messages like that. Better things to do with my time.

Some point:

I find rude the way people talk to the author of this post. Loot of people around are into the "woman are superior and man are shit" This is a fetish
Why he cannot create art where a man win without take insult? He could create that art AND in real life he is the perfect boyfriend and gentlemen. This is only a Fetish like the "woman are superior" is.

About the fighting between gender.
Seriously..people around there are..pathetic?  ???

Yes, man are stronger than woman. On the upper body, at the same weight , they are 30% stronger and more. That is real life.
What is real life too is: a woman that know martial art really well will almost win in a fight against a man that know nothing about fighting. Why? Because i am 50kg and i still can apply throw on man of 120 kg, and control him. Because i know WHERE to attack , in witch way.

But face it: a man whit a good training, vs a woman whit a good training , BOTH whit the same weight, the man have bigger chance to win. much bigger one. That is the reality. People can dream, phantasm, have their fetish, the reality is just that: in a fight the raw strength is 30% of the victory. this is a HUGE.

About "real street fight" ..yeah this is true: running is the best way to survive..because you never know what could happen. Only stupid people whit strong fetish or that watch 2 many usa movie think they can go in a street fight like that hahaha. For man or woman, run is the best way to win^^.

ps:10count rain whit people that are 20 pounds more heavy than me..or REALLY  more( i am tiny woman and i train whit guy, sometime really big). In loot of martial art. And i have fight them too. In a professional tournament the weight class mean something yes, but say the trainer suck because he allow 2 people of different weight to spare is just..rude and weird.

You make some interesting points Lamia. As you say, what I draw doesn't reflect who I am. In real life I've never hit anyone, male or female.
I take your point that a woman with training will be a much better fighter than one without, but also, as again you say, weight and strength are important to. That, no doubt, is why martial arts and boxing tournaments are divided into weight categories.

Yo Lamia I think you misread and misunderstood my post. I didn't say the instructor sucked I said it was negligent of a instructor to have people fight at a weight disparity. Why take a risk like that with any fighter or worse put a student/green guy in that situation? Training and sparring with a range of weight classes is fine in a controlled atmosphere. Full contact fighting at full force is a very bad idea out of a 10 pound weight difference, period, unless you plan on having a very short career as a fighter. Taking shots from a person out weighing you by 20-40 pounds can do more than ring your bell but hell train anyway you want it's your body. As far as weird yes I accept that, I am here am I not, but rude? No I don't think I earned that label.
