I'd like to say my thank you's to the group as well. First off, thanks for all of you who voted (the 46 who supported me moreso than the rest of you who didn't
) and also engaged in this poll with your comments. I entered this tournament with the idea of just having fun and seeing if I could entertain people. From the looks of the reactions, mission accomplished.
Next I'd like to thank Sadie. When this tournament idea came up, I was a little concerned about being thrown into a match with someone I hadn't fought before nor seen fight around here. When I saw that Sadie was going to pass on being an entrant, I jumped at the chance to have her as my manager knowing that with her posting style and wit we could have some real fun on our end and at the very least put on a good show no matter who I faced. She exceeded my expectations and brought just the right swagger and tone I was hoping for and then some as my manager. I am looking forward to the next chance I get to write alongside her as a client, manager or tag team partner. I couldn't ask for a more enjoyable experience than working with Sadie.
Finally I'd like to thank Emily. I haven't known her for long, but I really got to know her as we were discussing this match back and forth during the poll. She's got a fantastic sense of pacing and following the mood and does make a lovely victim.
I have to admit, when the idea came along for the women to pick their male opponents, I was a bit relieved. I figured I'd get chosen by someone who felt comfortable with me and my style and do a great job communicating back and forth. I have to say I was shocked when Emily picked me. Like I said, I haven't known her for long, but apparently she enjoyed a match I had in her Yahoo group enough to decide to take the plunge and choose me as her opponent. I was honored in the beginning, but after working back and forth with her and Sadie and getting an idea for how much she wanted to put on a good show for all of you, I came to see that being chosen by Emily was a really unique opportunity and I feel like she helped bring out some writing skill in me that I hadn't accessed in some time. Emily thanks for giving me the chance to work with you and being giving enough as a writer to let me really have some fun and show off a bit. Should the tournament move forward, I know for whom I'll be rooting.
Ok, there's all the sappy stuff out of the way. But again, I'd like to thank everyone who enjoyed and participated in this thread with their comments. It was a blast trying to entertain you all.
