I don’t usually even think about, let alone comment on, the possible race of members who post here. But in this thread a member brought his race into the discussion himself in a comment directed, for some reason, at me, and I responded to what he said. Is that such a big deal?
For your info, Rorkes Drift is a geographical location, the site of a famous battle which took place during the Anglo Zulu war, back in the reign of “The Great White Queen” Victoria. About 150 British soldiers successfully defended a trading post/field hospital against an attack by 5000 Zulus, many armed with rifles taken from dead British troops after an earlier ambush.
The battle of Rorkes Drift was the inspiration for the 1964 film, "Zulu" and is an iconic event in British military history, which is why I think the member calling himself “Rorkesdrift” here is probably white, and of British descent. I could be wrong about that, but it’s no big deal to anybody but you, Cecil.
