I think it was rigged, a set up

That's crazy. Holly absolutely punched the crap out of Ronda.

The marks on Ronda's face weren't make up. The blood oozing out of her mouth as she lay on the mat motionless and glassy-eyed without even reacting to those final blows from Holly didn't come out of one of those fake blood capsules WWE wrestlers tuck into their cheeks before a show. It was real blood, and Ronda took a real beating.

And that beating is an unmitigated disaster for both Ronda and the UFC. She was their biggest drawing fighter, hyped to an unprecedented degree. Dana White had millions of gullible fans, mainly American, believing that Ronda was not only the best female bantamweight MMA fighter in the world, but the best fighter in the world, period. Male or female, pound for pound, Ronda was tougher than any of them, in the octagon or in a street fight.

Holly shattered that illusion, and even if Ronda comes back and avenges her defeat, she will never be viewed in the same way again by the millions of fans who swallowed it whole.

And the trick won't twice. Holly Holm is an exceptionally good little fighter, but she's been ko'd and beaten in her career, and everybody knows she is not invincible.

If Dana White got up on his podium and said "Holly Holm would beat Floyd Mayweather JR in 17 seconds" he would be howled down in derision by the same people who swallowed that bullshit whole when he said it about Ronda.

As George Dubya said: "You fooled me once ... shame on you? ... You fooled me ... I can't get fooled again."

To add to this, I think something that really propelled the myth about her being able to beat Floyd along is the fact that she's known for her judo. To the casual fan, while they couldn't conceive of the best female fighter beating the best male fighter in the same discipline they likely had the perception that if she could manage to take him to the ground she could win due to the difference in styles.

I'll say this. 1. She told how the fight would go on a talk show. 2 Its funny that the loss came on the heels of her taking a brief sabbitacal from fighting for movies and possibly making plans for the WWE. 3 Lets face it, she has cleaned out her division. The only big fight left was with Cyborg. You definately want a big build up for that one. 4 Rematches are big bucks. She and Holly Holm will make big bucks should Ronda choose to return. Not sure why she would when she can do just as good in Hollywood. Everyone says Cyborg ran Gina Carano out of fighting. I think she was smart to leave when  she did. Movies, Hollywood sure beats training and fighting. Why take a chance on messing up your face when you have other options.

Will she be back, maybe. Will she still be out there? Definately. Was all this a work? A good possibility

You give Carano too much credit.  She's clearly still broken.

Rousey got completely exposed as a one dimensional thug who has been protected for years. A few points about the fight and the BS going into it.

1. Dana White has spent YEARS telling every male fighter on the face of the earth that Rousey could take them easily. (Most infamously Ortiz and Mayweather and even Mike Tyson.) There has NEVER been one shred of evidence that suggests that Rousey has EVER beaten men in a legitimate fight, (which White has also tried to claim,) nor so I believe she would stand a chance.

2. This is exactly what would have happened had Rousey fought Mayweather. His entire style is based on speed and jabbing and Rousey has never had that kind of conditioning and this was exposed for all the world to see against Holm.

3. She acted like a spoiled bitch who was Mike Tyson, Sly Stallone, Arnold and Vin Diesel rolled into one and this has been her MO for about 3-4 fights now. Eventually even the tomato cans White was feeding her were going to get tired of her act and actually try to beat her.

4. This wasn't a work. Rousey spent several days in hospital and the condition of her face was NOT what happens in a worked fight. I don't see her having a bright future in movies unless they are the direct to video variety where I think she could be the next Cynthia Rothrock. But at the big studio theatrical level? Please. If Lucy Lawless, Vivica A. Fox or Sarah Michelle Gellar couldn't crack the glass ceiling, Rousey has no chance.

The notion that Ronda Rousey would throw this fight is absurd.  She did not say how the fight would on Fallon. She said  'keep distance and keep far away from me and get me frustrated, until a point I'll make a mistake and she can try and kick me in the head, but it's not going to go like that.' She was making an excuse in case she would have got caught by lucky a leg kick. That is not what happened in that fight. Ronda as Rogan kept saying "is getting lit up".  That fight was over before that leg kick.  The only thing that was going to happen was more straight lefts to Ronda's face if that kick did not end that fight.  I give Ronda big credit for taking those shots and kept coming even though she did not know where she was.

Rousey fought judo at 155. She started MMA at 145. She ducked Cyborg to fight for the Strikeforce 135 title and continued that into UFC. Holm is the first person she's fought in years that was as big as Rousey naturally. Holm boxed at 139-145 for much of her career. She's also a highly skilled boxer/kickboxer with actual footwork. Rousey hadn't faced someone her own size with actual professional fighting skill outside of MMA. She's a bully who didn't have a plan B. She won't win the rematch either.
RIP the account of Sophie Cees.
