This comment is a follow-up to my original posting here about the excellent media coverage of session wrestling at MWM.  It has been necessitated by some inaccurate comment on social media claiming that images of former MWM wrestlers were supplied to the press by MWM.  MWM did not supply the press with any images.

MWM’s boss Cam answered questions from Metro as did three current MWM ladies (Bullet, Nikkitta and Panther) and two clients (Wolf and myself).  There was a photo shoot where a photographer acting for the media took pictures of Nikkitta, Bullet, Panther and myself; they are very high quality pictures as you can all see in the article.  Additional images appearing in the Metro article have used pictures taken from MWM’s twitter feed which goes back to 2012.  This is entirely legal and the press do it all the time.  When two celebrities have a row on twitter the press can show the tweets without having to ask anyone’s permission.  A design feature of twitter and facebook is that material put there by account holders is publically available unless the account holders have made their accounts private.  The Metro article appeared on 28th April 2016.

The second report was by Unilad.  I am advised that this was done without any direct contact with MWM at all.  I was one of the people contacted by Cam about the Unilad article and that she knew nothing about it before being told about it.  Unilad simply quoted from the original source, Metro, and used some of the same pictures.  I assume that the photographer and / or Metro gave permission for this.  Some images used in this report are publically available on twitter and this source has been acknowledged.  Other images are simply attributed “MWM”.  I’m not sure where they come from but I assume Unilad are using images they are legally entitled to use.  The Unilad article appeared on 28th April 2016.

I did ask Cam today if any images were supplied to The Mail Online and she has advised me that MWM did not supply any images.  This article covers facts that can be found on the MWM website, social media and in the Metro article.  Indeed they quote the Metro and have a link to the original Metro article at the end.  The images are either attributed to the photographer from Metro photo shoot (again I expect with his and / or the Metro’s permission) as well as photographs attributed “© Model Wrestling Management” – I’m not sure what the Mail Online means by this or where the images came from.  However, I expect they will know what they are doing.  The Mail Online article appeared on 29th April 2016.
In summary, MWM have advised that they did not supply any images to any of the three articles.  I am delighted with the Metro article, I honestly thought they would only use one or two of the photographs that were taken.  I’m delighted with the number of pictures used and the way the report has been written.  The comments on Unilad’s facebook page are varied and very entertaining.  Further mainstream coverage in the Mail Online is most welcome.

Further to the Metro article there is a Unilad report on same day (28th April 2016).  In truth this is just quoting material from the Metro article.  Here is the link

The comments on Unilad's facebook are hilarious!  Here is the link

The next day, The Mail Online reported the story.  Here is the link

Hi all
Tonight Monday 11th July at 10pm a programme called Kinky Britain will be shown on Channel 4 UK.  There are previews in the Huffington Post and the Guardian.  MWM is one of the features and Cam, Nikitta and myself are all included.

If mixed wrestling is your kind of thing I hope you can watch the programme. It should be available in catch up TV mode of you missed it.  Great to see more mainstream  overage of the scene.
