Thanks everyone who responded to my "Creatures the World Forgot" post - I think it's great people can share their formative film/TV catfight experiences. Also that others peoples encounters with the reviewed catfights were sometimes similar to mine.

This post will cover x2 film catfights that I discovered watching my old man's "private" VHS tape collection which I "stumbled" across  in my mid-teens. Being a horny teenager I reviewed these tapes with great interest. By then my catfight fetish had firmly taken root in my psyche so I fast forwarded through many of these tapes hoping to find some catfights or wrestling given their pornographic content. I struck catfight gold twice.

The first was the topless tussle from the soft porn western "The Ramrodder" . The second being the air stewardness catfight from the bonkers Ken Russell film. "Lair of the White Worm" (a very broad adaption of the Bram Stoker book of the same name). Neither of these catfights are particularly special over all but had certain elements that made a big impression on my hormone addled adolescent mind.

The catfight itself occurs during a very bizzare dream sequence between Lady Marsh (played by Amanda Donohoe) and Eve Trent (played by Catherine Oxenberg). The dream is experienced by Hugh Grant's character Lord James. The two are dressed as sexy, garter belt wearing, air stewardesses who proceed to have a short  grappling match in the central Isle of an airliner. The fight is witnessed by Lord James dressed in a Royal Air force Uniform. He is seated nearby, restrained and was completing a crossword puzzle (!) at the time.

The catfight erupts when Lady Marsh attempts to give some sort of green posion to Lord James but is intercepted by Eve. There is a standoff as the two briefly arm wrestle over the glass of poison. The glass breaks, Eve ends up on the floor, and Marsh stares down, laughing contemptuously whilst licking the spilt posion off her own hand. It is at this point the two start to sexily grapple on the floor.

The catfight itself is very short and the wresting not much to write home about. Though what is shown is some nice campy back and forth action, especially the tight clad legs locked rolling & struggling. Unfortunately the catfight ends rather abruptly and inconclusively. Though I did like the small follow on as the two women appear to tempt him still further by displaying a tight clad leg each.

Despite this however, there were some aspects of the scene that really stayed with me.

#The Watchers Response. This is one of the very few film/TV catfights that openly acknowledges, and shows (at least symbolicly), how erotically stimulating the sight of two sexy women catfighting can be to an observing male. Hugh Grant's character doesn't actually directly look at the fight but is aware it is taking place (its his dream after all! ).

Many films show watching men as leering or cheering at the two brawling women - but very few portray the physiological effect on men of such an erotic spectacle. The symbolism of the rising pen in Lord James's hand is about as subtle as a sledge hammer to the face but it is  honest in showing the fantasy response thst many men would have to the situation. It is only in a surreal and campy film such as this could this be alluded to so clearly.

For me personally, the fact he was restrained and unable to intervene to stop the catfight made it more intense. Almost as if because he couldn't stop he just gave into his base desires. I later read in a review of the film his restraint symbolised his sexual repression and thus powerlessness. Thus it was for the women themselves to catfight over him to see who won his affections. Being very shy with girls at the time this really resonated - l'd often fantasise about girls at school catfighting over me.

#The bonkers "battle music". In almost direct contrast to the "Creatures the World Forgot" catfight (which had no music), this catfight is played out purely to music. The music is bombastic and invokes the imagery of intense struggle or battle.  Overall, the contrast between the dramatic music, surreal setting and campy imagery of grappling sexy air hostesses is ludicrous yet it works and seems to enhance the eroticism still further.

The second catfight is from the 1969 soft porn western flick The Ramrodder. The fight is between the characters of Lucy (I think) and Tuxwanna. The catfight itself is essentially split into two parts. The first is a clothed floor struggle which is moderately engaging (one fighter wearing some impressively frilly undergarments!). The fight is soon interrupted and the women separated. They are then forced to battle in ritual combat with knives until "blood is spilt". They then prepare themselves by revealing their fantastic breasts (naturally!).

A gratuitous topless struggle ensues as the two women, hands locked together, try to force the other to the ground. The director placing a particular emphasis on the girls proud pairs of jiggling breasts. Especially in the scenes infamous boob bashing/banging segments.

After a reasonable length struggle Tuxwanna over powers the other, pins her down and wins by drawing first blood on her opponents chest.

The scene represented a number of catfight firsts for me. It was the first I'd come across (so to speak) from a softcore porn movie and the first involving any form of nudity. All the movie/TV catfights i"d seen up to that point were scantily clad at best. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the scene, playing it back frame by frame as best as my parents VHS player would allow.

#Fight Over a Man. I loved the cause of the catfight as Tuxwanna admits to Lucy that she spent time with her sweetheart. Lucy erupts with anger and declares "... I"'ll tear you apart! " - fighting talk indeed! Also as the woman are restrained Lucy says" I'll fight her any way". All of this pushed my buttons as a teenager (and still does), showing the eagerness of the women to settle things physically.

#The Way it is Filmed. Both women have fantasticly pert breasts which bobble and jiggle sensuousally as the two girls struggle. The filming angles gratuitously shows off the ladies assessets as they strain against each other. The highlights being where the two women's chests are shown straining, colliding and rubbing against each other - soft breast vs soft breast. I also appreciated the shots taken looking up from below which really showed their off their quivering chests.

#Topless Breast Battle. It was the first time I'd seen what is termed a titfight element in a movie catfight. In my fevered catfight imaginings up to that point I hadn't really thought of the idea. However, I was immediately mesmerised by the sight of the two beauties slap, rub and grind their bare breasts together in combat. The way their upper torsos & arms were straining as their breasts banged against each other had me hard as rock. The fact that the two pares of breasts were pert, evenly matched with contrasting skin tones only added fuel to the flames.

This powered my later fantasies in which I envisaged womens body parts fighting their individual battle during a catfight, breast vs breast, pussy vs pussy etc.

#The music. As with the "Lair of the White Worm" catfight the, the ludicrous music really adds to the scene. Specifically the "battle" music during the gratuitous boob battle segments. This adds to both the camp but also the crazy eroticm of the struggle - that of two pairs of dueling breasts.

# The Appreciative Male Audience. Again, I appreciated the director acknowledging the eroticism of the scene via one of the main male characters looking with undisguised lust at the topless women and their wild struggle.

It would be great to here back from others out there on their experiences with these catfights.

I am loving these posts, you're definitely bringing back all kinds of memories for me.

The scene in White Worm was one of those rare and exciting instances when "my thing" would make an unexpected yet highly welcome appearance in something I was watching for its own merits.  In the 80's I was an adolescent who sat through all manner of random movies featuring amazons, cave women, female prisons, or spring breakers for no reason other than anticipating a catfight or wrestling scene ... or watching episodes of tv shows for a first time only because the network promo showed a clip relevant to my interests ( I'm looking at you random episode of CHIPS with a mud wrestling scene)

I rented Lair of the White Worm expecting a standard horror movie - so that was it's own ride in and of itself long before the unexpected scene, frankly.

During the 80s I spent all kinds of time hunting down movies and shows that might have a scene in it, or wishing to see more of something glimpsed in a commercial or on the vhs cover --- but boy howdy it sure was (and still is) hot when your discreet turn-on suddenly featured prominently in a movie or tv show when you're not even looking for it.
