Unfinished Stories

When am author for what ever reason leaves a story unfinished when is that story up for grabs?

When your imagination takes over, I guess.

I can't think of anyone who writes a story here for profit, only their own gratification.

If it is a story by a current member and if you finish a story without their permission it is, at the very least, in extremely poor taste. I know some writers here have felt strongly enough about them to register them for copyright purposes. And there is nothing stopping them from filing a complaint with the owner/ moderators.

Honestly it might be less grief to just write a story using similar characters. Or to get the author's blessing.
