This fight has long been due. Lorde (18) snatched up two Grammys which Katy Perry (30) hoped to get during the same show. Katy, on that night, ended up ridiculed by Lorde's fans on the social media, and exposed to mocking remarks during the after show party which she left humiliated and close to tears.
Lorde and Katy now meet again, backstage during preparations for a televised charity event, and while Katy merely looks at the girl briefly with a cold, dignified glance Lorde strikes up a condescending conversation bringing up the topic of Grammy awards and rubbing in how she didn't have any competition to be taken seriously.
Katy, at Lorde's crushing remarks, hints at her, in an equally cutting manner, that there may well be female songwriters and performers who sing better than many of those who have won a Grammy.
The  animosity between the two women quickly leads to a passionate spat in which Lorde challenges Katy to fight her on a wrestling mat, and Katy, eager to punish her hated rival, agrees to wrestle her in front of an audience. She tells Lorde she also wants to show her in a song competition that she's a performer far superior to her, at which Lorde laughs in her face and replies that 'the bet is on'...
Soon after, Katy and Lorde meet at a quickly scheduled event, both setting foot on the wrestling mat on which they are to fight each other in font of their cheering fans...

Katy Perry: 30 years, 5'7", 59 kg, cup D

(Lorde was born November 7th, 1996; I have taken care to use recent pictures for this poll which depict her as '18 years old' according to the sources)

Perhaps no surprise how the fight goes, but I'm utterly amazed at the results of the singing competition so far - I'd think Lordes voice is pretty but she has only a small fraction of Katy Perry's power.

Katy has better range with her voice yes but lords just has better music. She puts more feeling into than queen Katy does. And don't get me wrong I love Katy's music. She has a powerful voice. But lorde's song writing skills are better

That's what people don't get right: We're talking singing as a technical skill, not song writing - and if they think Katy doesn't put everything and all into her singing, that she doesn't have as much 'feeling' in her performances, then they have never seen her performances. Lorde's weird antics don't put more feeling into her singing, it just looks weird. Katy sings some of her much more personal songs like Brick By Brick or By The Grace Of God in a way Lorde never could - Lorde doesn't have the humble attitude to be as good as that, and, really, is too full of herself.
I also wonder in which way Lorde is supposed to have 'better music'. They're completely different styles which can't be compared, and Katy has a much broader variety of music.
The songwriting skills are like comparing someone who's written 1 album (Lorde) to someone who's written hundreds of songs for 15 years at least, of many different song genres, topics etc. In that category(not included in the topic however), Katy would clearly win, too.
