My profile is rubbish. How do I set my profile picture?

my profile is rubbish too and i tried to sort it but i keep pulling this error  ....is there maybe a certain size limit big or small ...i tried several pics from 170 x 157 69.2 kb on up.....

this thread might help out with the upload issue http://www.freecatfights.com/forums/index.php/topic,37417.0.html It may not be the size it might be metadata.
