Quite right it was a Festelle match.  Ive seen blonde Danni wrestle live, though  not this particular match. She was always aggressive but French girl Sophie could also match her in that department. If you liked this fight you would like my favourite Festelle lady Anita fighting Swedish Tina. Again both  nude lots of aggression with both women resorting to hair pulling.

I believe the man acting as MC and ref is Jeff from DWW.  Was Festelle a precursor for DWW?  Aside from the girls actually fighting I can't recall one company's on screen participant appearing in videos made by another company. I think it remarkable that one man dedicated so much of his life to our favorite sport. Sadly I understand Jeff passed away shortly after shutting down DWW.  Even though his name never appeared on the company, like Joan Wise, Vira Fights, and Tanya Kicks, he should be remembered along with them as people who really moved this community forward,

Regarding Jeff the ref, he was the mainstay referee in the Festelle meetings I attended around 1995ish.
I also see him refereeing for DWW, based in Vienna and AS Beka in Germany.  I always felt his role was merely refereeing, not promoting or recruiting.  I suppose a referees main mission is to try to ensure ladies dont get hurt, particularly in the very intense matches which occurred.  Also explaining to girls wrestling for the first time what was expected of them. Most of Festelle matches found their own course, some sporting others bad tempered.  if both the women decided to pull hair and go at it they were allowed to carry on.  He was a good referee because he was mostly unnoticed. I have often wondered what emotions male referees experience. Are they exited by the struggle or mere concentrating on refereeing?

I've seen the Danni - Sophie match - very tough and aggressive. Sophie really impressed me, she wasn't intimidated in the least by Dannie.

Dannie always fought hard and not always within the rules. Her neck stretches (like a pro wrestling camel clutch ended a few matches; she even applied a Rear Naked Choke on one poor opponent.

Ah yes, Festele at their south London pub back room. I saw two Festelle events in west London but purely sub stuff in swimsuits , sad I missed these. Those Festelle women were all tough and aggressive. Not highly skilled but no quarter was given or expected within any agreed rules.

They didn't have any huge training but showed real determination and learnt on the mats so to speak.

Jef was great as were the two Festelle organisers . Once I remember the organisers wife coming allowed to help.

I'm kind of sad I missed these days. Help as in competed or anything? Or just helped things run? What are some good festelle matches similar to this one or are a little rougher than most? Thanks!
