Thoughts on adding an AI Art section and wish to hear from AI creators

Someone mentioned the possibility of adding an AI section. One issue we always face with some new section is "is this going to have 5 threads in it after a year and we look dumb adding it? "

As it stands our view is people using AI to create art, stories or videos should add something in the post title to tell the viewer that the thread has AI content so they can skip that is they want. Since that is rather polarizing for some.

Looking at the first page I see two thread with that sort of notification. The person who suggested it would make it three people.  So who else is doing or planning to do AI art content? We don't need a dozen people ranting why they hate it, we like to see if it is a worthwhile one to do now or if we will wait for when it picks up more.

Now some advantages for its own section:

You can have threads on more technical talk that might seem annoying in the Art section: Prompts, programs used, etc..
People like me who did a bunch of unskilled puttering around can post without feeling like we are taking up space.
And I know some are doing one big thread so they don't take up too much space. Their own section gives you some elbow room.
So just gauging the interest (in actually posting there)

Since I had suggested it - it would be a yes from me as well... but probably once there's more activity and there are more of us on here... I know there are quite a few AI catfight artists on DA - not sure how many are on here.

Also, this thread skipped my attention till today.

I'm doing ai art and clips and would use this section, the quality is getting better all the time so I think it will grow

I don't think it needs to be separated from other art. DAZ is a render and AI is a render too. I use AI but also i othrs programs for the final product.
I do it with DAZ render the same.
So NO no need.

I know I'm late to the party, but I've been dabbling quite a bit with the AI art. Mostly to make stuff to go along with my stories. I'm not sure FCF needs a whole section for AI art but if there's any way to "up" the size of files that we can upload in threads, that would be a nice way to get more pics of all kinds into FCF. (I'm sure there's a way to link pics if you have them posted elsewhere, but I don't and can't, lol)

I would agree to the separation.

I've found a lot of hate on reddit against AI art and I imagine the sentiment might be similar here.  Conversely, it could be that the minority just happens to be the loudest.

I'm tending towards "yes", because AI created content is clearly growing rapidly so there will likely be so much of it at some near future point that having a separate category for content and discussion might make sense.  For now, maybe you could rename the Animation section to AI & Animation and direct it there until it grows.  But again, because AI is growing so fast, that might only be a very short-term solution.

For some time I have been delighting in making animations with AI even if I would not call myself an artist, I have no graphic talent, but I would like a corner where I can discuss technical tricks, procedures used etc.
